Wouldn't it be nice to have Mo Peterson instead of Slugboy Collier? 20ppg and 56% shooting w/ 40% 3pt shot. Coulda had him too... He's the next Finley. Imagine Steve Mo and Cat running up and down the floor bombing away and hitting sick dunks. Too bad CD was stupid and picked Pryz for COllier.
Finley was and is a super athelete compared to Mo Pete. Finley had a bad sr yr and avg 20pts,6reb,and 6asst and fell through to 25 or 26. People knew Finley had the hops and all around skill, Peterson is more of shooter than a scorer. Pete is a good player, but I don't think anyone will compare him to Finley. Finley is probably a close 3 or 4 in the league as far as shooting guards are concerned.
Yeah, stupid CD taking a serviceable big man and a first round pick, and turning it into a future franchise player who is a dominant defender and rebounder who can play SF, PF and center. I'm curious, isn't CD the same idiot that traded Othella, Price's contract, a fat and old Antoine Carr, and a solid 2-guard in Michael Dickerson, instead of trading Cat, and got Francis and gave us arguably the best backcourt in the NBA? That CD is just killing this franchise.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Rockets made the trade with Milwaukee (our 2000 first rounder for their 2000 and 2001 first rounder) behind the scenes first. Milwaukee then picked Collier per the request of Houston. So yes, we could have had Eddie Griffin and Mo Peterson on the same team. Although then again, Mo Pete is actually a SG and Houston had no interest in a SG that year. Now I think the Rockets could have gotten Donnell Harvey instead of Collier. That would have been a nice pickup.
