i never understood the knock on denzel washington either. I think he plays his roles well, I like all of his movies
Great movie. I like it as much as the second one. Certainly better than the Transformer, etc. Easily the best action movie for this year. Bourne could be the best spy movie series I have seen so far. Bourne 3 is better than the latest Bond movie. Matt Damon is great and the director (who directed the second one as well) is a genius.
Great movie, the story is good, well cast, good direction, great action, one of the better trilogy- did not disappoint.
Spoiler On the Nikki stuff, i got that impression that they might try and establish that there was a relationship there, glad they abandoned it because it would have made no sense if you look at the first 2 films in relation to Nikki's character. Think they toyed with it, apparently they shot this movie without a complete script and they were shooting the movie as they got pages, but decided against it. Glad too I would have been annoyed if they tried to shoe horn a love intrest in there. Saw it this past weekend and I thought it was an excellent film. Gets you right from the start and just never lets up. The Waterloo Station sequence was just awesome, as someone mentioned along with that final car chase. Warning to those who've never seen the first 2, don't go see this one as you'll be lost as it assumes you know what happens in the first 2 and reffers back to a lot of past movie information.
Not to derail this thread, but I've heard that comment several times and it puzzles me. Am I the only person who thinks Julia Stiles is hot (even with the bad dye-job she had in this movie)?
Really? I think not. I mean, she's not a supermodel or anything, but I thinks she's quite attractive:
Stiles is a great actress in my book. Not over the top, just super solid. I saw the movie today and really enjoyed it. But my only nitpick is: how does Bourne get money to travel all around the world? And why does he never try to change his identity?
Great Movie Best sceen Spoiler DESH Vs Bourne NOW THAT WAS A FRICKING FIGHT Desh was kicking ass. . Bourne was kicking ass Alot of ass kick by two men fighting each other. . it was just great Rocket River
What a wicked movie. It's tough to decide which of the three was the best, but this certainly lives up to the franchise. I love the camera action. The car crashes that occur are normal with standard, everyday cars. Two metal objects, each weighing a ton, colliding at 40-mph is a ridiculously vicious and heavy impact, but if it happened in most movies, they wouldn't be able to capture the force. The Bourne movies do because of the way they let the cameras get right into the impact and react to them. That's the case with all of the scenes. You're immersed the action so much more; you can feel every punch, every crash, everything. Even the little actions of Bourne looking through papers or scouting an area, they're done with such precision. Also, Bourne is a badass. We all know that. It was just worth stating.
my only gripe with the movie, that i forgot to add earlier, is that some of the conversations were really drawn out. not wordy, but there's a couple scenes where they're close-up on bourne and someone else and it's like they're trying to think what their line is before they say it. particularly in the beginning, i was begging them to get through these scenes. luckily 95% of the movie is pure badassness, but i was bit skeptical early on.
The beginning was confusing. How did he end up back in Russia? That was the only thing I didn't really like, but it was something I completely forgot about within about five minutes.
The beginning was scenes you didn't see at the end of the second. It was just a continuation of sorts.......he had just been shot and then involved in the car wreck in the tunnel (in the second movie), now he has just fled the scene. The scene in Russia (in this third installation) was him making his escape after the car wreck, but before he goes to the housing development and tells Neski's daughter that her parents were actually killed by him. At the end of the second movie is where he tells Pam Landy to "get some rest, you look tired." This same exact scene.....from different angles.....shows up in the middle of the third.
Yeah, this took me a minute or two to figure out, since I hadn't watched the second one recently. However, after watching 'Ultimatum', I went back and watched 'Supremecy' and was surprised at the level of continuity they maintained, despite the fact that the movies were made three years apart. Greengrass may shake the camera a bit too much, but he's still a pretty darn good director.
He's an excellent director, the shaking camera thing never really bothered me, I think it adds to the overall effect. The continuity is great, they really made a concerted effort to connect the 3 movies in a very natural way
i only didnt care for the shaking camera during parts where the characters were standing still talking, but in other scenes it added to the overall panic and chaos the characters were in probably will go see it again tonight since i saw it opening night and there were a lot of clappers!! but also to just be able to see it in a semi-empty theater will be cool
I must say I'm surprised how much everyone likes the series. I must be one of the few that doesn't get it. I've seen the first 2 on reruns, I thought they were just ok. I'm not trying to knock it, I just found if funny that I'm really out of tune w/ the majority here. Maybe I'll try re-watching them again.
uhm you should have spoiler'ed that rookie like i did in the quote not a huge piece of the entire movie but still a significant piece (look at me being all the tough non-rookie )
