Obama is associated with the Christians. He is a practicing Christian who attends a Christian church.

Now I will ask you again, the fact that Obama's father is a Muslim is important because?

You're a bull**** artist and, as ever, your argument has been thoroughly debunked but allow me to pile on.

I'm sure somebody associated with the left has somewhere slandered Romney for his religion. Someone somewhere has said everything imaginable, on both sides. But no one of note on the left has. And, according to rimrocker's expedition, nobody or virtually nobody on kos has either; it's hardly the epidemic you are pretending to be offended by.

Certainly no one on the left on this board has said a single disparaging thing about Romney's religion.

It's hilarious you're trying to pin anti-Mormon sentiment on the left, when it is rife in your own party and virtually non-existent, wrt Romney, outside it. It is also hilarious that you're pretending to be offended by a made up thing when you are person on this board bringing his religious bigotry to conversations about the 08 race.

So what you're saying is that:

    =

    Which IMO is >>

    Which = [IMG]

and if you disagree, you're aint nothing but a purple lover, you're either with us or against us :p

In all seriousness, I like Romney out of all the Repubs. Saw him on one of the late night talkshows (Leno?) and the guy's charismatic and seemed genuine.

    have no fear RRiver

I dont take Jorgie seriously, I just had some unexpected freetime and felt like bustin his chops for a few.

It kinda helps for someone to bust on him for some of the really stupid stuff he says so any new lurkers know him for what he is.

I almost feel bad for folks that are affiliated with the Repub party as his antics could reflect badly on them if someone were to actually take Jorgie at face value.

just another day in the monkey cage. ;)

I'm actually inclined to assume that politicians, more than anyone, are actually respectful of their kids' political views. And I really don't think it should be a segue towards prying into to the relationship between a parent and his minor children. Sometimes I just hate politics.

TJ is saying that there is a greater connection between Obama and Islam than with any other significant presidential candidate in history. No, he's not Muslim, but there is Islamic influence, which can't be said for any major candidate in U.S. history. That is important. And, in my opinion, the media outlets capitalized on and exploited this fact in somewhat outrageous manners. Yes, some simply reported the fact, but some gave it a negative tone, which isn't fair. It obviously shouldn't have a negative tone, but we have to admit, the connection itself is a big deal. IMO, it's a GOOD thing, that our country is progressing in a direction where we have huge support for a candidate with some Islamic background, something NEVER BEFORE touched in history. But yes, when the media reported on it, Fox News and CNN specifically, didn't exactly spin it as a progressive and positive thing. That right there is the problem. Drawing attention to the connection isn't so bad, if you're calling it something progressive.

Oh, and of note regarding the Mormon debate...right now, the left is probably not so concerned with attacking Romney for his Mormonism. Perhaps they would if he became the Republican nominee, but right now, remember, we're in the PRIMARIES. It's Romney vs. Giuliani vs. McCain vs. Paul.
Either way, history points to EVERYONE attacking Mormons, simply because their old societal practices such as polygamy (which Mormons in general DO NOT SUPPORT ANYMORE) are irksome. My best friends are Mormon, and they love when it's associated with polygamy. *cough*

The only one in this thread who has mentioned Romney's choice of religions is you.

The only one who has intimated that Obama would be a bad choice because of his father's (not Obama's, but his father's) religion is you.

What is hypocritical is you decrying one candidate for a relative's choice of religion while trotting out the lie that the left is attacking a candidate for his choice of religion.

The C'dork's hypocracy knows no bounds.
