http://www.nba.com/rookies/survey_0708.html Which current NBA player are you (rookies) most looking forward to playing against? 1. Kobe Bryant, LAL 2. Shaquille O'Neal, MIA 3. Tim Duncan, SAS Kevin Garnett, BOS LeBron James, CLE Steve Nash, PHX One vote each: Vince Carter, Jamal Crawford, Ryan Gomes, Richard Hamilton, Dwight Howard, Jason Kidd, David Lee, Dirk Nowitzki, Chris Paul, Gary Payton, J.J. Redick, Quinton Ross, Josh Smith, Dwyane Wade Man I can't believe that they even have Quinton Ross and Ryan Gomes. Man isn't Yao or Tmac competitive enough for them? ..... Maybe I'm just over reacting
I bet the guys who answered Ross and Gomes probably knew them from high school or college. That is the only explanation as to why anyone would look forward to playing those guys.
lol j.j redick? cmon! NO ONE is looking forward to playing with or against him. Thumbs down for whoever picked him.
Some of these guys look like they voted for their buddy. It's the only way I can factor in some of those picks. Either that or they have played against these guys and smoked em.
Herbert Hill and Ryan Gomes were teammates at Providence once, so I'm willing to bet Hill put in that vote for him. There's other players I can think of not mentioned (Arenes, Amare,). None of them as high profile and good (arguably) as McGrady or Yao though. Yao's likable but probably wont be a player most young guys in the U.S. idolize the most. Big men now if they can like to pattern their games to the Garnetts, Dirks, and Amares, meaning not much low post. I'm glad Yao's not on the list actually cuz dudes in the NBA used to name him as the guy they wanted to dunk on the most
No love for the Glove. But who wouldn't want to play against him now? He'll be chasing you around out there with an oxygen tank strapped to his back. Again, who would NOT want to play against someone who's defense is leakier than Scooter Libby?
if i were a rookie i wouldn't wanna get schooled i'd like to school the other person. So i'd like to face LeBron. Hes got No D and all he can do is drive in.
My gues is that the rookie voting for J.J. Redick has a history with him, he either already played against him in College and he want a re-match, or he is a friend/old teammate and is looking forward playing aginst him.
