    x infinity...

I've been wondering: Jack Baur, Chuck Norris, James Bond, and Jason Bourne...of the four characters, which one would win the 'baddest bad arse' award?

    This may just be poll-worthy...

P.S.: Thanks for posting that Kimmel video; it's freaking hilarious :D

For whatever reason, to me, this series seems to have gotten better with each movie. I hope they make the 4th and 5th ones in the series into movies as well.

Saw it today too. I was expecting some clapping.. but unfortunately didn't get any.

Good thing there wasn't any love story involved in the plot somewhere because there pretty much weren't any hot chicks. Some of the fighting sequences were bad ass! Too bad Matt Damon can't really do Kung Fu or else we'd see him do flips and such.

Btw I went to the AMC @ Dunvale theater and realized that it would've been so easy to just sneak in through the side doors and walk in the theater as they didn't have any employees checking the tickets at the doors. But it was worth the 8 bucks or so that I paid.

Also what is up with all of these generic military and anything vs the middle east movies lately? It seems like that's all they got in the previews. Yeesh!

I went to a 1 pm showing today and the theater was nearly full. There were lots of gasps and cheers during the movie, and applause at the end.

No kidding...before Bourne they showed the trailers for Rendition, Lions for Lambs, and The Kingdom...it started to play like 1 really long trailer.

I hope 3:10 to Yuma is good. We need more good westerns!

Funny you mentioned this because although I haven't seen the movie yet, my brother raised this as question?

Jack has the resources of CTU and the President to support him. although, credit must be given because it takes him only 24 hours to solve the problem.

James Bond seems to rely a lot on gadgets and his charms to get him out of trouble. He is always caught in situations where a normal bad guy would just blow his head off.

Jason Bourne, does amazingly well to survive with limited resources.

Chuck has the Chuck Norris Facts and it's enough to make the other guys tap out in submission. :D

I liked the realistic sound effects. But the movie bourned me to tears. Yes, bourned me. I guess I am not into action flicks, because nonstop chase scene after scene after, um, chase scene, and another chase scene for good measure, grates on me to no end. I almost walked out of the theater. I keep saying to myself, alright something else. But no, chase scene.

For action adventure, I am more into movies like the fugitive.

    Hilarious review

    Bourne strikes fear in reviewer!
'Ultimatum' showcases action hero's prowess as a killing machine
    By Phil Villarreal

You don't want to mess with Jason Bourne. Guy's as lethal as Chinese wheat gluten.
The hero of "The Bourne Ultimatum" has got trip hammers for fists, feet that kick like David Beckham and a deathstare that melts steel and makes glass wish it could go back to being sand.
A sleeper assassin brainwashed and trained by the CIA, Bourne (Matt Damon) still can't remember his true identity three films into the series, and that ticks him off something fierce. So he does what anyone else in his situation would do — hop around the world and beat down every superspy who's done him wrong until he gets some answers.
Along the way, he'll jump feet first through windows, race across rooftops and, just because he can, hop motorbikes over 5-foot-high walls and ride them up staircases. When he takes to the water, great white sharks freak out and put out a Bourne alert.
But most of all, Bourne will fight. He'll boot adversaries in the stomach and pistol-whip them for good measure. He'll unleash torrents of forearm shivers captured in quick-cut close-ups.
Not even telephones are safe. In one scene, Bourne slams down the phone, then punctuates the hang-up by blasting some rounds into it for good measure. You know those people who say "I hate goodbyes"? Bourne is not one of them.
Paul Greengrass is credited as the director, but you don't quite direct Bourne, you just hope to contain him. I would say that the film — while thoroughly invigorating — is a little slow in places, and the story isn't cohesive, but I'll keep that to myself because even though Bourne is only a fictional movie character, I'm still afraid he might somehow find a way to read this. So, trust me, the flick is aces all the way.
The CIA probably won't be much of a fan, though. The organization is depicted as a cadre of shortsighted, power-mad dolts who think nothing of slaughtering civilians to cover up their own foibles. The chief dummy is Noah Vosen (David Strathairn), who sends squad after squad of henchmen abroad to take out Bourne, despite having no success whatsoever. Guess Vosen's mentality is if you don't fight Bourne over there, you'll have to fight him here.
In addition to being a killing machine, Bourne is also a crafty detective. He cracks codes as if they were walnuts. He spots undercover henchmen in an instant, and has a knack for peeking in windows at the exact right time to snoop an agent handling a file he needs to see. Compared to Bourne, Sherlock Holmes is Nicole Richie.
A little advice to the CIA: Whenever you're hunting down the world's deadliest assassin, and start to fear that he'll come after you, do yourself a favor and lock the doors to your offices. Flick on the deadbolt or something. It might give you an extra second or two to hide or get your estate in order before Bourne pays you a little visit. Alas, the CIA seemingly planned open-house weekend when Bourne comes knocking, so he gets to run through, around and over the building at will.
More advice, to Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles), who's got a thing for Bourne: Veer clear, because he's dedicated to his work and he'll break your heart like he shatters thugs' faces.
Bourne rides alone, to a place where he cannot be followed — up staircases on a motorbike.

Then you will like The Kingdom and some of the other movies coming out...

Maybe it's just me, but I like those type of movies as well. I loved Syriana, Spy Game and other similar-themed flicks.

But don't you get bored of it? I know every person has their own unique taste, but sometimes I think you can get tired of watching the same thing.

Maybe it's just me, but for me it's like watching Denzel in almost all of his recent movies. Same type of character, different name.

I guess now is a good time for those movies to come out anyways with the "situation" we live in nowadays.

hmm, what do you mean by that? i bet you loved the guillermo stuff chalupa, although it was corny.

by the way, the action sequences in the movie were awesome. and you said matt damon doesnt know kung fu and **** to do flips? ofcourse, he took 6 months of boxing lessons for the movie. but whatever he did looked cool. those flips and **** would be too much for the movie, i mean.. who'd like to see a guy doing flips and stuff in the movie? its not a martial art movie.

about the other denzel movies, everyone likes to see him play that role plus it suits him. like the way he acts on those roles is just perfect. i mean, i wouldnt wanna see him do comedy **** or play superhero or something. i think hes doing a great job with what hes doing.

well chalupa, criticizing everything wont take you nowhere, you gotta learn to appreciate stuff buddy.

Wow, is it your goal in life to go after me or something? Did I do something to you? So what if I like some flips in an action movie. You like Denzel movies and I don't like some. Big deal, I don't go around knocking you off like a pest.

And you criticizing what I say isn't really taking you anywhere either BUDDY.
