The rockets scouts apparently hide a lot so info is very hard to get on them. However the webmaster is from Indian Hills City College so he knows a few players there. The Rockets have called Hightower and the coach with interest. This guy is a high flying above average defending guard. He probably will go late lottery exactly about where Rockets will pick. Very much like Tracy McGrady. We can't get the real one but he'll do. He can play 3 but is more suited at guard, cuz he's 6'6.5". This probably means Cat or Drew will be gone if he gets picked. Probably traded for a power forward. They seem to be targeting martin heavily more than Morris or Mimh lately. They need a inside presence and Martin is quick enough to guard the 3s but his offensive game has not catched up. Morris is a poor man's Odom, and Darius Miles if he comes out will be a solid choice for us too. Also, don't be surprised if Rockets trade up, somebody will bite on Drew/Kenny or Cat trade. BTW, he thinks we got a absolute steal in the Francis trade. =) I got kicked out before i could save the transcript and i'll post more as I remember it. Well I dont know.. Kenyon Martin has offense. He has been putting up big numbers. Tonight he got 28 points, and I know he had 7 blocks.. IN THE FIRST HALF! I think Bryce and Cuttino should be traded for a good athletic sf or a powerful power forward.
Francis3 Sorry you got wrong impression but he will be a great PF, what I meant was he doesn't have the SF offensive game yet. He can play a big 3 but he couldn't do much on offense at SF cuz he can't shoot 3s. He has the quickness to play a great defensive SF but his offensive game has to catch up. Plus, unless we can trade up we can forget about the top tier players. Unless the balls fall our way. So I think Hightower is a good idea unless of course he goes to TCU.
I don't understand why it is even an issue of whether Kenyone Martin has the offensive game of a small forward. He has a classic power forward's game that should suit him very well at the next level. Another guy everyone should keep an eye on is Stromile Swift of LSU. He's 6'9", currently a sophomore. Outstanding athlete. Saw him do a free throw line dunk in high school. Was a high school All-American. Rated top 5 in the 1998 class. Didn't qualify academically the 1st semester at LSU. Struggle to adapt to the college game in the 2nd half of his freshman season. But now he's averaging over 20 ppg and has showcased good shot blocking and rebound skills. Rumors are swirling that there's a good chance of him declaring early. Corey Hightower by the way played along side Stromile Swift at the McDonald's All-American game. Two more high schoolers to keep an ear out for is Gerald Wallace and Eddie Griffin. They are considered amongst most high school gurus as the 2 best players in high school. Wallace is suppose to be the best pure athlete amongst the 100 best seniors. Darius Miles has stilled failed to qualify next year for college, so early entry is still a very good possibility for him. By the way Francis3, Kenyone Martin finished with a triple double tonight.
