First Houston, now Toronto? WTF is going on?? But it won't last.... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=211111007
I've been saying all along that we have the talent, we just have no coaching. If Issel doesn't interfere, we could conted for a playoff spot. That won't happen however, so we hope for lots of lottery balls.
what?! wont last?! luck?! wtf? we have had a top 3 hardest schedule so far WITHOUT our best player and we have responded so far. we have combatted our lack of size with some nice gang rebounding. we have hit a good amount of our Js which is key with the new rules. we dont turn the ball over. we have an mvp candidate in nve. and teams underestimating us is nice. i love watching their reactions when we win. im not sure how we are getting past the issel-factor but we are. just wait til dice gets back. and issel gets fired. hells yes!
Look out how many shots were taken by both teams. Not many teams in the NBA can get into a track meet with the Nuggets and win.
Good thing that's legal with the new rules then..... I'm wondering how long Nick's form can last! As long as he keeps percolating the Nugz are tough!
NugzFan should know better The Raptors came off a back 2 back night after killing the Jazz, however it was a 1 point game at the half and Vince had to play 40 minutes in the game to close it out. If anything (IMO) it wasn't the play of the Nuggets that won the game vs. the Raptors, it was the Raptors who lost it because they just were to tired. I mean, playing in Utah Saturday night and then having to play in Denver with the thin air and all the night after, thats pretty brutal. BTW, the thin air killed Hakeem, he only played 14 minutes, but had a great game in those minutes.
I'm not shocked at all. I predicted Denver as a playoff team and not only did Rocket fans think I was crazy (well most of them), but even NUGGETS fans thought I had lost it. If Denver can play .500 ball and stay within a couple of games of a playoffs spot until McDyess returns I can see them slipping in along with the Rockets. They're a talented team.
The Nugs are tough at home and just plain suck on the road. I don't understand why the didn't start Rider again. He had his one good game against the Rox. Going on a back to back with the second game in Denver is a recipe for disaster, at least we got blown out so we could rest "the best back court in the NBA"
yeah yeah. we always get this.. Denver didnt beat us. We beat ourselves. no offense but blah blah blah. we played better and scored more points. thus we win. being tired is an old excuse. these are the best athletes in the world plus you guys blew utah out. shoulda been more rested if thats the case.
well rydah doesnt really need to start hes said. taw and poz are wreaking havoc on D and its working. rydah said hes happy to just get his minutes and he is. hes being more tentative than i wish but still ok.
I hate it when ANY team has success that fans in turn simply attribute to luck. What, are the Nuggets heaving up 40 footers, praying for them to go in, and winning that way? Hardly. The past couple games, the Nuggets simply have been outworking their opponents. With their franchise big man out, the Nugs have some hard-working smaller guys [like Posey and Abdul-Wahad] who like to play defense, hit the boards, and pick up some of the slack in McDyess’ absence. When you outrebound your opponent by 10 or 20 your chances of winning increase pretty dramatically, and that’s what they’ve done in the past couple games. Plus factor in that Denver has always been a tough place to play in [regardless of how bad some McNuggets teams have been] in addition to the playmaking/scoring of Van Exel, and the Nugs are tough customers. It’s not luck, it’s called solid basketball.
What do you call bad teams playing solid basketball? It's either great coaching or luck. You make the call.
They missed the playoffs last year WITH McDyess. It's very possible that Denver finishes with the 2nd worst record in the west. Which teams are worse than Denver? Memphis for sure, maybe the Warriors and Sonics? The Clips? Denver will surely finish 6th in the Midwest.
