Anyone who watches q1 of gm2 against the jazz will understand how much chuck hays can give this team.

im hoping scola works out really well as a starter.

because in my opinion chuck hayes will tear up some 2nd string players at 10-15 min per game. in other words a very good back up PF.

It is a GREAT move to resign Hayes

This guy is a worker, brings exceptional energy on the court... He makes so many hustle plays and actually developed a little offensive end by the end of the year!!!

    Great pickup

I think Chuck and scola will split there minutes. Scola will probaly get 22 minutes at first so he can gradually get used to physicality of the league. chuck will get he' 24 to 26 minutes.

Um...4 years? I hope we aren't back in the habit of handing out big deals to folks (granted the dollar amount hasn't been disclosed yet).

There's a bit of relief in knowing it's a reality.

Congrats to Chuck Hayes. I'm glad he's succeeded in the NBA.

Is it just me that thinks Chuck Hayes wont fit into adelman's system?
He can't even shoot a jump shot. He tried and Bill Worell and Clyde laughed forever... lol

I think he will fit in great as the guy that gets the board and ignites the break with the great quick outlet pass, then runs his tail off at the other end creating plenty of 4 on 3 opportunities and cleaning up messes on the offensive glass. I think Adelman will love him.

Does anyone know if we had the bird rights to chuck? If we don't then that means we dipped into our leftover MLE money, which means it wouldnt be more then 2-3 million per year.

We had Early Bird rights, so we don't need to use the MLE. I heard someone report earlier that it is starting at 1.6 million per, which is a reasonable contract for a guy like Hayes.

You have faith in Carl Landry to make contributions? Hayes isnt an elite power forward but he's the ONLY one coming back from last year's team. There's new coaching and management but it wouldnt hurt to have a little continuity from last year's team instead of massive roster overhaul...

Perhaps the yearly dollar value is lessened cuz its spread over more years (I hope). They mentioned it being an incentive based contract so it'll likely only be pricey if Hayes plays a lot and does well. Which is what the Rockets want anyways. Still yeah, please dont let it be Matt Maloney money

I wonder if he'll start getting too comfy and not playing as hard as he has been..
