DennisCD, if you're with the organization, we may have met before. I know a lot of people personally within the organization.
I am a big fan of Mario the player- I wish him the best as a coach-I would love to see him with our org. Is he married to Gina GAston?
He left them because he was a pawn in an ongoing dispute between Ernie Grunfeld and Eddie Jordan. EG wanted him to be the successor to Jordan as evidenced by the fact that Thibedeau got a 2 year deal and all other assistants got 1 year deals. EJ on the other hand saw the writing was on the wall and basically stonewalled Thibodeau and refused to let him do anything. EG and EJ were playing a bad game of cat and mouse and Thibodeau was caught in the middle. He did the right thing by leaving.
Why does everybody assume Elie will be a good caoch? He hasn't proven anything with limited time hes gotten, not to mention he is jobless!
So we've actually met in person? Or just talked through phone/email? I kind of have an idea who you are, but it says you joined ClutchFans in 2003, so that kind of throws me off.
Amen. Do you know if he was ever offered a position here? Did he just turn it down or was he even asked to stay?
Great question! After all, Golden State had losing records while he was there. Not that it was all because of Elie, but the record certainly couldn't tell us he would be a great coach.
Ellie is a great Motivator. he will light that fire that sometimes tracy and yao lack. he will instill that killer mentality.
I'd have to agree with pretty much everyone here - Elie's presence would be awesome in the locker room...
My sources (ie. the radio) tell me that Elie was great at working with the young players in GS. What he may lack in x's and o's, he can make up with his motivation skills. Not to mention his championship experience. denniscd, are the Rockets interested in him?
there is no article because who would want it out there....not mario, not avery, not cuban, and not the mavs. the rockets interviewed elie a couple of times and adelman decided to go with tr dunn who worked for him in sac. cant blame him for hiring dunn to help our d...he was an awesome defender back in the day
