I'll ask my iPod question in here, thanks for starting the thread. When I open iTunes and then plug my iPod up to the USB connector, my iTunes program does not recognize my iPod as being attached but my computer does. Since iTunes doesn't see it I can not delete or transfer songs. Any suggestions?

There's a program I use at the hizzie that gets all the songs TO and FROM the iPod... it needs the latest .net... I forget the name... but, for the meantime, check this page out: Copying songs form iPod to PC (warning, some pop-ups).

I have a great (free) program at home, but I cannot remember the name. It's simple to use and free.

I'll let you know the name of it when I get home from work

I hate iTunes, so I use XPlay ( http://www.mediafour.com/products/xplay/ ) to manage all the music on my ipod. It allows for transferring songs to and from the ipod via drag-and-drop (no "syncing" necessary). About the only thing XPlay doesn't do is manage pictures or videos on the ipod, but since I never use that feature, I don't miss it.

I had this same problem after I had downloaded an updated version of iTunes. I finally re-installed an older version (6. something) and bought a new USB connector. Everything worked fine afterwards.

As long as my iTunes transfers to the iPod I'm fine. Updates blow.

My laptop crashed recently and fried my hard drive so I had to transfer my songs already on my Ipod to my new computer and was able to do it by using a third party software called "IDump". Google it. It's free and fairly simple to use.
