Okay my neighbor has these 2 cats that are always outside and each morning i notice that i have paw prints all over the hood of my car. It really bothers me and it got me even more pissed when i washed my car a couple days ago and the next morning i have these muddy prints all over my hood. I know it is them because they are always on her car sleeping or sitting in my parking spot when i get home.

I will be really pissed if they leave little scratch marks on my hood from their claw.

Is there any way that i could deter them from sitting or walking on my car?

Just hope they're not the kind of cats that can predict death...

Pee on your car to mark your territory.

Cover the hood of your car with some sticky paper for one night..if they jump on it they will get stuck and you will have evidence in the morning :p

I could have sworn there was a thread about this exact same topic a while back. I think somebody suggested poisoning the cats, and it turned into an animal abuse thread.

Anyways, there are all kinds of animal repellent products on the market that don't harm the animals. Cats have a pretty keen sense of smell. Perhaps you can sprinkle a bunch of black pepper on you car?

Get a dog. My dogs will bark at anything that gets close to the house.

if the solution above is not satisfactory, however, then perhaps this will work as well.

    either way, let me know.

We had this problem and I just waited until I caught one and I snuck out quietly and shot them a couple of times with BB gun. Doesn't hurt them but it stings em enough to show em they shouldn't sleep there.

critter repellent might work but you really need to catch them in the act. If you see one on your car and give it a squirt with a watergun or hose it will associate being on the car with being wet.

On a related note I've had plenty of neighbor's with cats including in duplex where the cat spent about as much time on my side as the owners. Generally its been pretty good because I get the benefits of keeping mice out without the hassle of cleaning a litter box, feeding or paying for vet bills.

Motion-activated lawn sprinklers. May also deter door-to-door salesman.

I remember someone taped aluminum foil to their hood. Apparently cats hate that stuff.

I've heard the repellent will work. I have a lot of stray cats in my neighborhood-I honk my horn a couple of times before starting the car in case a cat is under the hood

Good luck- I think the cats like to get in a high place like the car for safety-just a natural thing

Sprinkling cayenne pepper on your bushes keeps them out, but I don't know if it works on a car - might blow away. And even if it works, it's only temporary. When you stop sprinkling the pepper, the cats will come back.

You could go Mike Vick on the cats.

Seems like the best way would be the repellent idea.
