My girlfriend and I bought her a cheap DVD player from Wal-Mart in June. We haven't used it all that much, and last week it stopped working. It turns on, it just won't play any discs. My question is, do you think I can take it back in the box, and ask for the same one (they still have it), even though we don't have the receipt? I plan on telling them it was a gift and the giver doesn't have the receipt. Any advice welcome.
It's very likely. Wal-Mart is very stupid about what they allow to be returned. My advice would be to wait, if you can, until after Christmas. They are much more leniant after 25 December as to what they'll take back. In many cases, you don't need the reciept. You might have a rougher time of it now, but who knows? Try it at one, and if it doesn't work........Go to another...... p.s. wal-mart sucks. don't buy anything there.
If you have the box and they still carry the same model then it is a no brainer. They'll exchange it. They'll even do an in store credit where you can buy whatever you want from there. Trust me on this. I was total white trash in college and I'd buy all kinds of crap and take it all back. It was like, free rental with a security deposit.
If they give you an answer you don't like,....Do this: Jump up and down repeatedly, cuss a little, and say you want to talk to someone higher...get names right it down and call 1-800-wal-mart. Before you leave tell the mgr. what you want and tell them you will call home office if situation isn't rectumfied. Further tell them you will proceed to make a "letter to the president". This is done via phone and shows up on reports that mgmt. must respond to in a certain amount of time or heat happens to the mgmt.
only sometimes? he scares me mostly all the time especially with that messed up sig that makes no sence.
