Did I just start a thread? It's been years.

Well, I thought Jake played well last year and could help us again. Has there been any talk about re-signing him? I think his 3 year contract is up, but I could be wrong.

Anybody have any Jake Tsak info?

I thought he was a fairly serviceable 3rd string center. But with Yao, Jackie Butler, and maybe Deke coming back, is there really any room for him?

He's a Free Agent, but I doubt we'll offer a deal. Since we now have Jackie Butler and Mutombo may resign. There really isn't any need for him.

Our roster is full as it is. with Deke, Butler there just is'nt ENOUGH room for him. he'll get picked up someone.

Jackie Butler played like 8 games last year. I'm pretty sure he was not brought here to contribute.

Man what a difference a year makes...last year we were scraping for big men and this year we gotta let some go.

    I love it.

Hell, when everyone was healthy we didn't have room for him last year! He's definitely a goner at this point.

Does anyone know how old Jake is? I know he has a competitve swimming background and is stronger than he looks. At this stage for vet money - I would keep him over Jackie or Deke......IMHO

    Probably gone

I recall when Phoenix brought him over from the Euro team (Greek?) he was playing for-he was their answer to Shaq at 7'+

Thank you for starting this thread DonGrahamleone

Well youth is on Jackie Butler's side. He is only 22.......

    But Jake is already 28.

And if you check their career stats

    Jackie Butler
    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/jackie_butler/career_stats.html

    Jake Tsakalidis
    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/jake_tsakalidis/career_stats.html

Jackie Butler with less play minutes than Jake Tsakalidis has slightly higher ppg, slightly less rebounds but with relatively better FG% and FT%.

So out of the 2, my choice is Jackie Butler. He is still remoldable by coaches like Jack Sikma or Carroll Dawson due to he is much younger.

You people are really underrating butler. this guy two years ago was a pretty good rotation player in Newyork. he has alot of nice low post moves. he's offensive post game is light years ahead of Jake. also he is a good shot blocker. he reminds me a poor mans keon clarck. alot of you guys are gonna be suprised how good he is.

Speaking of Keon Clark, wth happened to that guy? He looked like he was to explode in his years in TOR and SAC then he just disappeared

He's only 22 years old. I'm pretty sure the Rockets have more of an interest in a 22 year old developing center with skills then an 8 minute a game 28 year old journeyman center.
