They are targeting Brevin Knight now that Francis is out of the picture.

Nobody appears to be showing Knight much love. Too small? Too old? Too...?

You've been spot on all year on the Cavs, no argument here. I'd be willing to blindly agree w/ most of your stuff. As far as I'm concerned Damon Jones is just cashing checks. I think he practices his dance moves more than basketball when they train.

It's been quiet on the Cleveland front for the most part. The blockbuster (which almost went through) could've been Bibby and Scola to Cleveland in a 3 way, but we all know how that went. ;) I'm not sure what's going on in Sac-town, but I think we're pretty willing to give up Gooden for Bibby. One problem is Sac might be worried about getting a solid replacement at pg. Another could be Cleveland is worried that we'll be forced to overpay Varejao if we get Bibby. Just speculation on my part. My wild guess is Sacramento may be looking for a 3 way trade for more value. Gooden for Bibby is a no brainer on our side. As an aside, there seems to be talk that Ferry really likes Udrih from the Spurs.

And from the general Cavs fan consensus: PLEASE get Bibby, get rid of Gooden, and HELL NO to Alston. So cookies for everyone here who say no to Gooden and that Rafer is not a much of a bargaining chip. Most Cavs fans agree w/ you. I agree too. JLIII? Get some perspective people, would you buy into other fans hyping up the benefits of the 10th guy on their rotation? BTW, we've got this guy named David Wesley, he plays solid D and can knock down 3's...

I think for luxury tax purposes and with the promise of Scola developing, I think the Rockets should keep their powder dry and sign Chuck Hayes. That way they could keep the bigger assets like the Sura contract, Head and Snyder available for a move later in the year to shore up the 4 spot.

I'd give up Head for Gooden. Gooden is a great player who is actually a better rebounder than Hayes.

That's soooo generous. Gooden could start on half the teams in the NBA, for Head who most teams would pick up to get a few minutes of 3 point shooting off the bench. Cleveland is trying to land Bibby for Gooden, not another 'shooter' off the bench who can't knock it down during playoff time. We've already got Marshall and Jones for that. BTW, I'm sure Cleveland would give up Marshall for Scola too.

This is why it is hilarious to me that some Rox fans think so highly of our scrubs (Rafer) and mediocre bench players (Luther, JL3) and that they could fetch a quality starting PF (Drew Gooden, Udonis Haslem, etc). That Morey-Weed must be some good stuff to get people that high!

Gooden sucks. If he was "great" Cleveland wouldn't be 8 points per 100 possession better with him off the court-- and it's not because he didn't play enough with Lebron James, either. 1994 of his 2237 minutes were with Lebron on the court.

bingo. i doubt the cavs are sold on the shooting dearth from the pg hopefuls the hold, while i dont think rafer would be the answer at the 1 spot if im the gm, i suspect danny ferry would be interested in rafer for some reason. ballhandling efficiency would help and rafer is pretty uptempo, all things that could coax him into a rockets gain.

I think damon jones is one of the most useless players in the nba, he allegedly went to u of h but i never remember hearing anything about him ever, I believe I can beat him one on one, and for the most part any normal fan cant ever beat an nba player no matter how sorry the nba player is.

But anyway I just think the rockets will end up trading rafer for wayne simien of the heat. The thing about wayne simien is he was great at kansas and I dont think he ever had a fair chance to produce in the nba, if he comes to houston he will battle a "rookie" in scola (2-time spanish mvp but a rookie nonetheless) and 6-6 chuck hayes for playing time

And by the way if cleveland agreed to a gooden for rafer deal then we might as well offer them synder and head for lebron and gibson. LMAO get it done morey lol

    Morey calls Ferry

Morey: hey Dan i'll just cut to the chase I want lebron because you dont deserve him

Ferry: Please Daryl dont take lebron if I give you next years 1st round pick will you leave the cavs alone?

    Morey: Deal...............................WUSS!!!!

Simien would be a good pickup, he's a little injury prone but if we can get him in a good deal, im down with it. Basically this guy is a taller Jason Maxiell. Maybe a Doleac, Simien and Second Rounder deal could work for Rafer/ JL3

Turnabout being fair play, one similarly delusioned Cavs fan came up w/ Damon Jones and Ira Newble for Alston, JLIII, and Bonzi. And no, I did not mistype that...Go ahead and reread it, you know you want to.

Just some more perspective when you go to the other side of the fence.

Could anyone please tell me why either Danny Ferry or Pat Riley, let alone any other NBA GM, would want to trade for Rafer Alston, who's eight-year career shooting percentage (38.4 percent) from the floor leaves so little to be desired along with the fact that he's not the kind of PG who can break down opposing defenses? Right now, whoever winds up getting him would have to take on the remaining three years of his contract.

As for JLIII, for backup PG help, I would be willing to trade cash considerations for him given the fact that his remaining two years of his contract is just for the NBA minimum, and since he was not drafted into the league. The fact is that he is young, which could mean there is some possible upside to his future unlike Rafer's. :D

i agree that rafer ends up in miami, HOPEFULLY and with extreme morey-induced optimism for skip + 1st rounder/or/luther. i dont know about simien, not proven and while he showed flashes at kansas he won't impact the game much this season. obviously if we can land haslem, i think thats the last piece (as so many on this board like myself are looking for).

i really hope we wouldnt take williams contract, which would be near impossible i think. are the heat willing to lose haslem for a true pg? i know that i think alston will do well next to wade, and the heat would be better off. if im the heat brass, i may pull the trigger.

i think that completely depends on jlIII. if the NO deal goes through then we may have a trade exception to sweeten the miami deal, if im correct. i say within a month the rockets will have to make some sort of move for another 4, whether it be haslem (please!) or varejao or anybody who will add: 1)def 2)reb 3)tenacity. i like scola but lets make sure were set on all fronts. were set on ballhandlers and guardtypes and now getting close to fill the treacherous 'four-gap' that has haunted us. at this point though all we have is potential, albeit high upside in scola and IMO landry as well. i wont rest easy until the rockets bring that final piece. it would be great to start the season with depth like never before, that way some people wont have any excuses if it all falls through again.

    "its all on me"
