    "They cannot stop Kenny Thomas!"

Kevin Harlan, 3:34 to go in the 4th quarter, Rockets v. Sixers

Well . . . they couldn't. Or, Derrick "I used to be talented" Coleman couldn't.

Kenny Thomas is a decent offensive player when he remembers THAT HE IS NOT A JUMP SHOOTER.

Kenny with the completely uncharismatic postgame interview. I love the guy, he saved our bacon. But please sub in Barkley for him during the postgame.

Kenny was simply incredible in the paint,he just bulldozed himself in without hesitation and that's the beauty of it. I've notice when Cat and Wink is on the floor with Kenny on the wing,Philly has no answer to stop those three.

I would like to confirm that BGM quoted this almost verbatim. This is not an exaggeration or a joke. I still have no idea what the hell Kenny Thomas was trying to say with that statement...and I wonder if he does.

I think maybe KT was alluding to his rookie year when he started quite a few games in the 2nd half of the season. Still, if that's what he meant, he expressed himself very poorly:p

To all those , I wish Taylor were here supporters, it just goes to show what he did was nothing special last yr. Yes he's avg 17pts per game one yr, but so did walt williams. Kenny gives the same numbers and output as taylor with less money. I'm not a big Thomas fan, but he's playing about the same as taylor would have so everyone needs to get off of Mo T's jock.

Mo T was a true POWER FORWARD , except he couldnt rebound. ;) His body frame was a power forwards body frame. Mo is better than K9.

Kenny Thomas has gotten really lean, and now is sf/pf. He doesnt scare anyone, he just has to produce points. He takes alot of jumpers.

Whatever Kenny does, i still dont like his game. Sorry to the 3 or 4 kenny thomas fans worldwide, but he should hit the road and go play with some DOGS!! WOOF WOOF!! :D

I loved the way Kenny was not afraid to drive inside on Mutombo. Steve and Cat were hesitating all nite long, and Kevin Willis could not have been more intimidated if he wanted to.

How can you not like Kenny Thomas? He's a FABULOUS passer and seems to have developed quite a few great moves. He was a lot faster than Coleman and Mutombo. In fact, I remember KT having some trouble with quickness. Now, he seems to use that to his advantage and the "deer in headlines" look he used to sport is gone.

    I was VERY impressed.

Good points, maybe he will blow a knee and make you happy, how many wins would we have without him? As long as you are happy with the players game, then what does the win total mean?

Excuse me!!!! Doesn't Mo T take a lot of jumpers?!!! Isn't that his game ....outside? Kenny outhustles and outrebounds MO T while still producing basically the same offense. I don't think KT is there to 'scare' anyone. But I've yet to see any PF's who can really keep up with him. So you're basically talkin body type......what the hell does that account for? You've totaly lost me with that post. Give KT his props. He's earned it this far into the season. Did you happen to catch the 4th quarter?

    GO Kenny!!!!

Kenny came to camp in shape-more than I can say for other Rockets past and present-remember Barkley arriving at '97 camp 30lb over? Kenny is making the most of what he has. He is fast on the first step, he does not have the size of Rasheed, Duncan, Webber, or Motumbo, but he is playing effectively and gives us another offensive weapon.

Let's make the best of this situation and support Kenny-he plays larger than his size....

The Philly game was the first Rocket's game that I've seen in almost a year, so excuse my ignorance.

People talk about Rudy's substitution pattern being predicated on matchups. My impression is that he is responding to the other team's lineup for defensive matchups.

I like what John Wooden used to say: he didn't prepare for other teams; they prepared for him. That's not realistic for today's NBA but it does seem like we should dictate more.

    Any observations?

My first game in a long time too (I hate Ohio come basketball season) and the things I noticed were
    1. How much the announcers praised Kenny for his defense (hey, its a Kenny thread so gotta get that in there)
    2. How impressed I was with Cato, especially to start the game. He's not a superstar or even a star, but he gave great effort, hit the few shots he had, got the boards and offered a presence inside.
    3. Willis shot like crap, but still offered some physical presence. I expected more from him against Deke though.
    4. Even on an off night, it is obvious our backcourt is as good as advertised.
    5. I was not impressed with Griffin or Norris. I was impressed with Torres (as were the announcers apparently who said something about him being a first round pick if he had come out in the draft)

    "Im a Kenny Thomas Fan"

Derick Coleman, the newest member of the Kenny Thomas Fan club.

The biggest diffrence this year with Kenny Thomas is his ability to finish. The two previous years he was the worst finisher on the team, now once he makes a great move allowing him the oppurtunity to finish inside, he never fails to put the ball in the basket.

Those of you who say Kenny is a small foward and is too lean and all that other nonsense really needs to pay closer attetnion to the game. Your bias attitude toward Mo or subconcious dislike for Kenny seems to be clouding your basketball judgment.

Kenny Thomas is without a doubt one of the stronger guys in the league. Plus he has great hands. Usually those two attributes are enough to get in done in this league and at that position but Kennys qualitys dont stop there. The one thing that seperates him from the just strong bunch is his lighting speed quickness -- its mesmerizing to me. He also posesses ballerina like footwork. All these combinations make him a freak of nature imo. Now that I think about it he may not be human at all. I mean look at this rarefuly mixed array of talent this man puts on display. When a player has these abnormaly mixed attributes it makes opponets wonder just what planet this man is really from.

In this mornings paper Coleman says Thomas must obvioulsy be a student of the game. I disagree though, I think Kenny Thomas has already become the professor, and the Colemans of the league know it.

Quit complaining about Kenny just because Garnett and Duncan can shoot over him. Do we wish we had a young Malone or Webber, minus the attitude at the four? Of course. Get over it.

If Rice and Walt can play small forward (and I'm not knocking them, ) why can't Kenny? Except for his shooting which might just get better (he doesn't look clueless) he seems to have all the small forward skills they have. Then his detractors could watch his game and wouldn't have to complain incessantly about his height. He would be just about the best rebounding small forward around. He is one guy whose skill set just seems to keep growing. His open court game seems to be growing also. Have you seen him running , but not finishing, the break with Cuttino and Steve?

I am a big fan of Griffin, but Kenny with his all around game is making it hard for Eddie to get playing time. Eddie on the other hand has done impressive work guarding the Garnetts and Duncans, who are too tall for Kenny.

Another thing about Kenny did you see his statement a week or go that he expects to be in elite power forward category soon. I thought it a bit wierd, but like Mobley if there is a will there might be a way.

That's interesting... but I think you can't have it fully one way or the other. Other teams have to change matchups to try to slow our guards (by that I mean Steve and Cat, NOT Mooch, who *still* sucks in my opinion)... and since the frontcount is our weakness, we have to adjust there.

That's what most teams do... I dunno - maybe the Lakers don't since they have a great backcourt and a great frontcourt player.
