Not every boss will be called 'Lao Da', eg. Only those leaders whom you are personally close to and you feel like your big bro. will be referred to as 'Lao Da'. If you;ve ever watched any chinese gang movies, you will know what it means, of course only half-jokingly in Yao's situation.
I originally planned to translate this first. But it was d@mn too long, and it's getting rather late here. Let me try to squeeze out some time tomorrow. Yeah this article by Yang Yi is far more interesting...... I could not help laughing at reading some of those "first" acquaintences of Yao Ming and Steve Francis. And I wondered what would have happened if Yao Ming had said yes to Steve's proposal of the 3 of them (SF3, Cat and Big Yao) conspired to throw out Jeff Van Gundy in JVG's first season with the Rockets. So stay tuned !!
Sorry, never posted pics. before...a test here. ------------------------------------ Not every boss will be called 'Lao Da', eg. I want to see a team where Battier is the 5th or 6th best player on the team and where other teams have to make adjustments to us instead of the other way around.
Pryuen, That was a terrific post. Really appreciate you taking the time you did to share this with us. At least this time with T-mac in the middle, a Yao and Stevie photo won't look quite as lopsided.
This article reminds us what a piss poor coaching job Larry Smith did as the interim head coach of the Rockets with 17 games to play toward the end of the 2002-03 regular season. We had a very realistic chance to beat out the Suns and take the final WC playoff spot, when Rudy T was forced to take a medical leave. Thanks to Mr. Mean's incompetence, Houston failed to break the playoff drought yet again, and as a result, Yao lost to Amare in the ROY contest.
we have the right coach to make this work so stop worrying. he had a lot of talent in portland and in sacramento so he will make it work. plus everyone's older now once you get a certain age you just want to win which i believe we are on the right track. now if jvg was still the coach i would worry with everyone who is worrying.
Apparently, Yao has Tracy as his co-franchise player, Francis as his big-brother, and Yang as his best friend.
