Let's see what kinda play the big boys give H-town...I'm tired of seeing their highlights in the last 15 minutes of the show like they were some WNBA team (no offense, Comets...I love ya, too).

You suck ESPN. The Rockets were your lead NBA story and you show THOSE highlight?? Where were the monster slams? Where were Hakeems blocked shots? You guys suck. It's not as if there were that many NBA games today. Maybe the late show will have more but I doubt it. It's usually just a weak rehash of the earlier show.

Actually it was the first NBA game shown. They Tenn-Fla game went to 2OT so Sportscenter started real late and of course the first story was Bobby Knight vs. Steve Alford. So how can you say ESPN sucks, they gave the Rocks their props and I think you need to get the facts straight before you go off blabbering about how the Rockets were mistreated. Besides, do you think ESPN gives a crap what we think?

What "facts" did I get wrong, Einstein? I didn't expect the Rockets game to be their lead story and I thought it would be their first NBA story and I was right. My complaint is that on OTHER nights they have been shown late in the show...something most Rocket fans aren't used to. Their highlight selection was horrible compared to that of CNN. ESPN has an hour to fill and that's the best they can do? As if someone wants to see another hockey highlight when the Rockets pull off the upset of the night.

Try getting YOUR facts straight, son.

Dude, when I posted that I was reading your first post and my screen wasn't updated with your second post. You know you could've just gone back to your first post and added your second post in by editing your first post. It's not hard and it makes it easier to follow a thread. Just some advice.

What sucks most of all about ESPN was their short summary of the game! They spent all fu*king night talking about the damn college hoops, and then spend less than 60 seconds covering a professional NBA game (and not just a boring game - a real nail-biter resulting in a major upset!)

ESPN does this all the time and it really, really, really makes me want to puke. ESPN's coverage of the NBA is just plain crappy. They always dedicate three times as much air time to baseball (even in the off-season!), college sports, and hockey. I've got to start watching Fox Sports or CNNsi.

    CMAN-
One thing to keep in mind is sportscenter is a national show, not regional or local. Sportscenter shows all the highlights of the players that views want to see (vince Carter, Shaq, etc) and small high lights of the other games. It is not a slap in the face to the Rockets, just they are going to show what people want to watch.
In general the NBA gets poor coverage because it simply isn't that big of deal to many people until the playoffs start. We on this board are the exceptions, we are true-die hard fans. There is only so much time in a half hour show and they must cover the NBA, NHL, NFL playoffs, NFL coaching changes, top 25 mens and womens basketball and other significant events (non 25 teams with national reputations, deaths)
In addition Bobby knight-Steve Alford fiasco stole alot of time as well, with Knight's outburst.
Sportscenter has nothing against the Rockets, or the NBA, just the facts are not many people care about the Rockets on a national level (unlike the Lakers, or Vince Carter, etc).

TheFreak - If you don't care, then don't post here

    4Chuckie -
I agree to an extent, I like the fact that ESPN covers all areas of sports. But I don't agree with their priorities. I think they should give professional sports higher priorities, and they should give off-season sports lower priorities (currently, they do vice-cersa). Also, there's a lot of sports fans (like me) who really don't care about college sports and are fed up with watching the majority of sports highlights being swallowed up by the multitude of college games.
