It all started right before game time versus the Nuggets....I had previously posted earlier in the day and was getting ready to log in again and visit a few sites (namely this one.) ....To my astonishment and chagrin, the little red ball for my "logitech" mouse was no where to be seen!

What to do? I was shocked and confused....I guess I was in a state of denial because I just sat at my computer staring at the blank screen like a hypnotised fool....

Suddenly it occured to me my 2 fantastic daughters aged 2 3/4....and 13 months (just the right age to drive you crazy ;) ) liked to take my little red ball out of the socket and play with it like a toy....I didn't worry because I had always found it laying around....under the bed, or near the computer.

I looked, and looked, and looked and looked! Under, Over, In, Around...no luck. Gametime was approaching and it was frustratingly obvious there would be a problem in Houston. I wanted to get in chat to catch up on the board and all the plans were vanishing fast. "Fine", I said...I'll go buy another one...

"Why would you do that? It will turn up tomarrow...anyhow you can go a day w/o the internet, right?" said roxana, my wife...I detected the tone and decided to submit...for now....

At night I tossed and turned, I couldn't sleep...and when I did I had a dream/nightmare about running after the little red ball throughout the city and never able to catch it....I woke up in a cold sweat..(o.k. I'm streching this part a bit ;) )..to again try in vain to find the cherished ball.....

I am now at computer location #2, with a traditional mouse and thought about yanking this one...(hope no one notices..)

However, I now realize I took the existance of that little red ball for granted and nothing short of another little red ball can replace it....

I'm no parent but shouldn't a 2 year old and 1 year old not be playing with a small little object like the mouse ball.

Other than that, hope you get a new one fast.

based on my post number this is kinda like f4p 3:16

I wonder if it'll be a big hit at sporting events

It's true, they shouldn't be playing with it, but the mouse ball really cannot go into their mouths (it is too big.).....still you have a point.

I love my trackball mouse (Kensington Orbit). Kicks ass for FPS games. Several companies (including Kensington) now make optical trackballs, y'know. I plan on getting one soon and bringing the old blue ball Orbit to work...

How much does the typical optical mouse cost? I thought my now outdated "logitech" mouse w/ red ball was expensive at the time.

    Hey, what's a "Eunich"?

You can find an optical mouse from either Microsoft or Logitech for under $20.

    You're kidding right?

Well if not, a Eunich is a castrated male servent.

I've never liked the trackball too much (I like gaming with a mouse better), but I have a Logitech cordless wheelmouse, and I'd be in bad shape if someone walked off with it . . .

ROXRAN - great post! I feel the same way about my Logitech mouse. If it disappears, I'll be out buying another one within an hour!
