Could this be the second coming of the Big 3? Big 3 '07 style! ********************* someone give me some pills, i need some sleep.
Steve is 30 years old. (Rejuvinating his Rockets celebraed career) Yao is 27 years old. (Prime of his career) McGrady 26 years old. (Bad back over the years) average age is 27.4 Hmmm?? These are the ages I remember for the Rockets. Drexler was like 36 (disgruntled with Barkley) Hakeem was like 34 (speed was starting to fade) Barkley was like 35 (Bad back) average age is 35 The 97 guys were past their prime, but they made it to the Western Conference Finals!!!!. They were still all-stars, but everyone was in the steep curve where their age was visible.
Wow, that is so awesome that they're so much younger. Hopefully the Rockets can keep them together for at least three years. I think the original big three, regardless of being past their primes, were better than this incarnation. Olajuwon > Yao Drexler < McGrady (based on their Rockets years) Barkley > Francis (not a fair comparison, but Barkley brings so much more to the table. You have to remember just what an amazing concept the big three was at its inception though. It would basically be like Shaq, Garnett, and Vince Carter all coming together today.
If Scola does well as he is thought capable of, it could even be the big 4 with a DPOY in Shane Battier Of course, I personally believe that Scola has the capability to perform extremely well (possibly Elton Brand level) and that Battier will get his offensive mojo in Adelman's system while retaining his defensive prowess. In short... we will be getting a Big Five And championship
Your forgetting, Scola is so bad on defense that it's a liability.. Francis, T-Mac, and Yao can handle defense like a regular player if not better. Until Scola doesn't become a liability on the court defensivly and changes it where he is OK and with his offense then we can talk about big 4.. but as it is right now he is ganna hurt us there
How badly do I wish this to be true... But IMO, it's a long shot. Also, I know many people are quick to point out that Stevie is possibly past his prime, and his athleticism isn't what it used to be, but I think the most important thing is his maturity. I remember all those times I cringed as Stevie jacked up all those ill-advised shots with the shot-clock running down...
When it was sugggested about the BIG THREE I thought that you would of course be refering to Yao Ming Tracy Mc Grady and Scola, yet I hope that Steve will still be able to give us at least 12 point a game
