Yeah 12 man rotation, play Yao and TMac only 20 minutes each.

Mixing and matching as needed to create mismatches at different positions and times:

    Francis / James
    Wells / Snyder
    McGrady / Battier
    Scola / Butler
    Yao / Mutombo

    Hayes, Reed (pine)
Novak, Landry, Brooks (signed and stored in NDBL)
Alston (trade for a star-quality prospect developing in Europe)
Head (trade for a future first rounder)
Lucas (trade for a future second rounder)
Newley (wrestles crocs for another year)
Sura (slips into the night where he taps his toes)

I think our starting five will "emerge" during the regular season.

Obviously Yao and T-Mac are there but everyone else will be battling for minutes based on match-ups and performance. We have the kind of depth that I've envied on other teams.

I like this starting 5 and making Battier the captain of the second unit.

Lets stock draft picks to keep improving every year. Drafting the next young Steve or Tmac would be prudent and allow them to develop behind the actuals would be nice. No more stiffs that only give you one concept (i.e. rebounding no shooting, shooting no D)

Tell me about it, it's not like Pollard with his serious offensive game and ability to shoot elbow jumpers wasn't a key rotation player on the Kings either.

I think we need to trade 2 of these 3 in Alston, Snyder, and Head plus the expiring contract of Bob Sura to either the Pacers for Jeff Foster (most realistic) or to the Heat for Haslem (not that realistic but a possibility). Bring back Chuck Hayes and Mutombo and keep Justin Reed around. Send Carl Landry to the NBADL.

Then I would see a roster looking like this:
    1 - James, Francis, Brooks
    2 - McGrady, Francis, Snyder
    3 - Battier, Wells, McGrady
    4 - Scola, Foster, Hayes
    5 - Yao, Butler, Foster

Your injured list would be Reed, Novak, and Mutombo.

I would much rather see Francis come off the bench and get major minutes at both the 1 and 2. We need him to be our main scoring threat off the bench along with Bonzi.

yea ithink james should start. i think when he played with us, he played well and didn't dominate the ball.

if francis played w/ the 2nd unit, he can do what he wants.

This is the one I'm pumped for. Francis, Wells, McGrady, Scola, Yao. And this is if Scola can be close to the glue guy that Battier is on offense AND defense. Yes that's a big if.
Now for the cool part that I overlooked before. So rebounding was an issue for me up until francis signed. So when francis was here, Yao could block guys out and let the small (quick) guys get boards. Francis and Wells are both very good board men. Scola might not be, but our 2 guards are some of the best boarding guards in the league. And Yao helps them out big time. A big PF might actually have more trouble with Yao there. Plus with Wells posting up, and banging low, a scoring PF will be very nice to have.

Here's the three twists that can happen.
    1. James for Francis. -- If Tmac plays a point forward which he maybe should/could then we loose Francis boards for James jump shooting which spaces the floor. I trust James less than Francis running the point though.

    2. I do hate taking battier out. He might come in at three and slide tmac to the two.

    3. Still hesitant to crown Scola with anything. Still don't like sticking Hayes in there to start. Can't wait to see what Rafer + Sura/Head/Novak/Snyder get's us.

Even though I like JVG, I am SOOOO glad Adelman is the head coach. I actually feel confident that Adelman will have a rotation that all the players can deal with.

    My input:

I think Alston is gone but I hope Head is not.

    Yao (32)
    Scola (28)
    Shane (32)
    T-Mac (36)
    James (30)

    Bench:
    Bonzi (20)
    Steve (20)
    Hayes (14)
    Deke (unsigned) / Butler (16)
    Head (might b traded) / Synder (12)

Thats a 10 man rotation. I can see Head playing one game and Synder the next; but not at the same time.
