I'd be more concerned about the guys knees than anything else...from some reports in New York they say his kness are "shot"...don't know exactly what that means, but it don't sound good...hope it isn't true.

Distinct possibility. I would not put it past Franchise to put up 18ppg. I am excited about the swagger he brings to the court.

No. If he plays his role, he can be effective, but with tmac and yao, and mike james, bonzi, he is not going to be an all-star.

As a point guard, you don't need 20-6-6, cos good point guard is all about point guard, Billup doesn't try to get 20-6 points per game every time he plays, manu doesn't become a all star by pure stats, i'm not compare francis to billup and manu i'm saying, he got a fair chance get good votes for all start team

This thread is not about whether being an All Star is more important..

Its not about whether or not the balloting system should change...

But based on the balloting system in place, and with Rockets role players' history since Yao Ming joined the Rockets, does Francis have a chance at the All Star game?

Just think about it. If Battier gathered 1M+ votes with less than 10ppg, less than 6reb and nothing significant in steals, assists, blocks or dunks...

Then I have to think Francis would be able to put up around 1.2M votes... Especially considering the style we'll be playing, Rockets fans familiarity with him, and the probability that he'll get a shoe deal from China...

Francis needs to put up 25+ minutes and 12+ ppg and he can make it...

First, Steve was an all-star starter before Yao. Dunks = ASG votes. That was the season he had ear disease.

Second, vote for Steve, he's a Rocket again.

Yeah I see that, I was just saying that while he doesn't deserve to be an Allstar skill-wise (something everyone should be able to agree on), he shouldn't be allowed to be an all-star even if he was voted in by the (Chinese) fans. Come on now...

I think all the chinese fans are bandwagon fans.
Before Yao they didn't care about basketball.
