T-Mac stated the team still needs a PF that can rebound. I hope Foster from the Pacers is the one the Rockets are looking into, if the Rockets can get him that will be great.

I'm the video, he said he called francis a week ago. I don't think co-existing is one of his major concerns.

I admit I wasnt keen on Francis returning, but then again when I think back I wasnt keen on getting rid of him for T-Mac in the first place...

well now we have the best of both worlds... trade t-mac for francis and get francis back

trade rafer for james and get james back...

the moment when t-mac learns the news is priceless.. the look when he says "he signed?" and his face lights up :)

surprised me how excited T-Mac was about the news. I really like what T-Mac said from the 8:10 mark till the end but onfortunately they cut him off.

And T-Mac did make a good point about people thinking Stevie dribbled the clock out a lot in his earlier Rocket years:

"People forget that that team (that Francis was on earlier) was basically 'Get me (Francis) the ball and clear outta the way'".

We just didn't have that many more options. Heh. And ya that quote "If he's not humble after all he's been through, I'd be disappointed."

Awesome. I've never been this excited about the upcoming season before.

The best part was clearly him talking about Kirk Snyder and Steve Novak getting a chance to contribute this year, two guys who will be lucky if they are even on the opening day roster. Further illustration that players are completely clueless when it comes to the managerial side of things.

uh oh, t-mac said francis would be effective moving w/o the ball and catching passes from yao. those are two things francis is terrible at: moving w/o the ball and spotting up.

t-mac also said we could run like pheonix w/o yao. i guess he doesnt know how bad francis is at running fast breaks, b/c he makes luther look like j-kidd.

and for the record, Francis must pound the ball to be effective. i have a feeling t-mac will be disappointed in Francis.

Not to bash Steve, I think it was a good pickup given the potential risk/reward and cost, but alot of people, including McGrady, seem to have forgotten Steve can't run a fastbreak.

Really because I seem to remember that he alone had as many fastbreak points a game than the rockets have had per game in the past 3 years.

I almot forgot that people dunked on fastbreaks. Of course thats partly JVGs fault but even JVG would urge them to run

Point being...even if francis is bad at the fast break he is a lot better than what we had last year

how was i owned? the only reason Francis is on the team is because he wanted to be here for chump change. we werent actively pursuing him like Rashard. im willing to bet that by mid season our best PG will be Aaron Brooks.

Yao will not see the ball again until 2008.

hilltopper, whatever job you got at channel 2, you need a raise, thanks for all the vids...(unless you're the VP of the station)

why did the video cut off before TMac finished the interview though?

On the vid, I thought franchise players are given heads up by management if they are about to sign a big name, a courtesy hey do you want this guy as a teammate kind of call.

I'm hesitant to respond because I really hate to bash Francis right now as I too am pretty excited about the signing, but this misconception needs to be put to rest. There's a difference between running a fastbreak and dunking as the finisher on the fastbreak. For the latter, Steve was one of the best in the league. As far as the former, Steve Novak might be just as capable as Steve Francis.

That's the end of my Francis bashing for the rest of this offseason.

Glad to see him back. Hopefully he'll contribute more than he did on his last team(s).

I think he knew Morey was pursuing him (hence the "we signed him!?"), he just didn't know that they got him so soon. I'm pretty sure T-Mac knew that management was going after him and they talked to McGrady about it before hand.
