either to have a scola or murphy coming off the bench makes us literally one of the deepest teams in the league. Murphy would open up the floor for yao... man...icant wait for next season!

Murphy is a strong 3pt shooter. He has Novak like range but more of a banger.

exactly! right on point. a double digit rebounder! and he has the size we need at that power to make up for our lack of size. getting a 6'10(he is that tall right?) rebounder and shooter is exactly what we need. the problem with him is the injuries(we still have scola) and his contract is pretty crazy

    With my calculations

We would have to do a package just to make salaries add up to get Murphy. Thats a high price tag.

Alston, Lucas, Head, Snyder for Murphy works
Alston, Snyder, Head for Foster and Diogu works
Alston, Lucas, Head for Foster and Diogu works
    Alston for Foster works
    Alston, Lucas for Foster works
You could package up any comination of Head and/or both Novak, Lucas for Diogu

There are quite a few ways they could work this!!!

Murphy's inconsistent as Alston in terms of shooting. His rebounding has declined and is extremely slow and unathletic. Isn't a good defender and has an awful contract. Maybe a couple of years ago I wouldn't mind him but I've seen almost every game of his and he for some odd reason has drastically declined the past couple of years. He's also been bad luck (I agree it's more Dunleavy but still lol) not having made the playoffs ever.

    SAY NO TO MURPHY

    NO

you *are* taking away from him.

Im sure that the almighty Spurs FO had some stuff that just fell into their laps, and yet everyone continues to slather away at what they have done over the years.

It was said in another thread, and I totally agree.

You guys that claim Morey cant take credit for some of these moves since they were easy are the exact same ones that would gladly roast him at the stake if one of them blewup on him.

probably the same exact ones that blasted him for the draft.

If it happens while you are in charge, you get credit.

    plain and simple

i do agree with most of those things esp the fact that his D is suspect but its not like he will be on the court with starter minutes its about spreading the floor drawing the double off yao in the low post which i think will make yao a better player. we dont need him to be a double double machine. he has declined your right but i feel injuries hampered him in indiana last season and mike d is one unlucky person!!! He would be a role player for us and helping us get a deeper better team. maybe adelman can bring the best out of him who knows, maybe he turns out to be a bust? but i think its a chance worth taking

I'd add to that the old adage "I'd rather be lucky than good."

If Daryl is just REALLY, REALLY, REALLY lucky, I'm ok with that. :D

So how long till the move is made? My guess 2 weeks of Morey reading our posts, laughing at us, then hit us with the blockbuster.

I see where you are coming from, but his contract is just awful. It's not really him but I'm sure if we try which Morey is doing very well lol then I'm sure we can get better. A younger more consistent player, but then again I see how if Murphy would regain his shooting touch he could potentially be a valuable asset but that imo should be more of a Plan C or D. I wouldn't mind him if we got him for some of our scrubs but definitely not for anyone that can contribute right now.

The guy I really want is Collison. :D

I'd absolutely agree that so far he has been lucky.

but that has to work hand-in-hand with skill/talent and the guts to take risks.

We still dont know for sure if the risk he took with the draft is gonna work out, but I certainly think he is doing the right things.

All comparisons to JL3 not withstanding, Brooks is twice the player JL is.
If Harris wasnt just a SL fluke and they can find room for him, thats another good move bringin him in.
IF Scola is everything he appears to be, could be the most important move of the offseason.

He is ABSOLUTELY taking huge risks with James and Francis.

It takes guts to try things like that....and if they work out, he and Adelman should be given every once of the credit they deserve.
