6? You do realize VSpan, JLIII and Sura won't be here next season right?
Our PG lineup only includes Francis, James, Alston, and Brooks. That's not too bad since James and Francis could play the 2.

This is, I think, an appropriate time for me to come out of lurking.

This is a win-win situation. As excellent as JVG was as a coach, his offense was highly dependent on the individual skill of each player, particularly the point guard. Rafer was called upon to do a lot, far more than was fair to him.

Now that SF3 is back, we have to hope that Adelman's motion offense is all it's hyped up to be. Depend on him to be a pure point or floor general, and the team will suffer. Put him in a motion offense where every piece is a weapon and everyone is in motion, and he can be one of our most dangerous weapons.

Can you imagine Tmac posted on the elbow with the option of scoring, dumping it to a cutting Francis, Yao flashing in the paint, or kicking it out to Battier in the corner?

How about Yao with the ball in the low post with Francis running a backdoor screen, followed by a Tmac flare to the elbow, Battier camped in the corner with Scola drawing the help defense toward the opposite high elbow?

Let's hope it's something like the above, and not SF3 bringing the ball up with Yao fighting down low and Tmac, MJ, and SF taking turns on ISO plays.

Either way, we just picked up a lot of talent. The biggest benefit of having so much talent is that if it doesn't work out, you can trade it for other talent. Let's package our extra guards for a swingman project and a solid backup 4, and realize that the pieces we just brought in will make us contenders now, and for years to come.

    V,

That is what Yao said "Houston, I am come"

I was trying to hide a little history in there...for amusement.

You sir, should post more often.

Great News!!! Welcome back Stevie Franchise!! It is never bad to add talent. The Rockets now have depth. If Yao or Tracy is out, we have Steve, James, Bonzi, to help our offense. This is a great move. Let's give credit to Morey. He is doing a great job this off season and he is not done yet. Who are the teams that are in need of point guards??? ;)
