If I was Francis I would sign with either LA Clippers or Miami. The Clippers spot is probably the most attractive one since, Jason Hart left, Randy Livingston is coming back from a severe injury and probably will most of the early season, Sam Cassell spends most of his time on the injury list. No one really left to compete with. With Miami they Gary Payton and Jason Williams, so he could easily earn a backup spot. With the Rockets they are pretty full at both the 1 and 2 spot, not saying he can't beat out some if not most of of our guards. Personally I don't care what he decides, for 2.3 million it is worth taking a shot at him. However I would only offer him a 1 year contract, with maybe a team option for the 2nd.

portland gave him 30 million dollars
if he really wants to come play for a contender he's coming here.
    Miami sucks
their championship was a fluke and thats over with.
Dallas is loaded with guards and if steve says he wants "minutes" he'll come here..
so i think it narrows it down between Houston because of minutes/ family/ house is here

    or boyfriend in L.A
    lol
    j/k

Goodness, I hope he decides to come to Houston. It would seriously be the best off-season ever and things would come full circle.

Forgot to mention both LA Clipps and Miami can offer him more money than we can, so I think its both well financially and fit for him to sign with either team.

He's already getting paid 30 Million Dollars from the buyout, as his agent said, money doesn't really matter, just fit and family.

In my previous response I said it was probably the best overall fit as well, and living in Los Angeles or Miami isn't exactly a step down to Houston. Money may not matter much for a guy that is making 30 mill off a buyout, but it isn't that bad of an incentive. Oh well best of luck to Steve Francis wherever he choses unless of course it is Dallas.

There's never enough good players...they should sign Francis and see who's going to be the starter come regular season. Make sure when they do sign him make sure he understood that he's not a guaranteed the starter and that he accept coming off the bench if other players are better fit to be the starter.

I hope he comes back. I'm not too concerned about his basketball IQ because the ball won't be in his hands all the time. I love him as an offensive spark off the bench. I love his driving. I love his competitivness.

Anyone have any idea what Adelman might think of Francis? Comments from years past....

If Francis or James could run a fastbreak....sigh

if they could, a second team with Francis, James, Bonzi and whoever would be an awesome uptempo 2nd team. sigh

but neither James nor Francis can run a fastbreak worth a damn. And let's not discuss Brooks. Because if we land Francis there is no room for zero on the rotation, unless you intend to piss off the 3 players with chips on the shoulders...SF, James and Bonzi.

oh, what the hell do i know what i'm talking about.

sounds like a job for superman to me
