Are you guys satisfied with the Brooks draft pick or would you guys drafted the Houston native? Thoughts
There is no question in my mind that I would have drafted Almond. Having said that I am turning into a Aaron Brooks fan real fast. The kid might very well turn out to be the steal of the draft. Morey knows what he is doing I think.
http://www.nba.com/jazz/Revue/2007_Rocky_Mountain_Revue_Schedule.html In case anyone is curioius how Almond's been doing in Summer League.
Well, the Rockets could have drafted Scola back in 2002. Instead they chose Bostjan Nachbar and some Chinese guy.
not that it really matters, but almond is not a native houstonian. i think hes from new york or something like that.
im bored so i just checked nba.com. Almond is from Georgia. He was a high school teammate of Josh Smith. Must of been a pretty good team.
I think what he is saying is that are we happy with Aaron Brooks.. or does everyone think Morris Almond will turn out to be better regardless of if he was there or not.. (We coulda bought the Suns pick to take him possibly)
I believe there is a limit on what you can sell a pick for. Usually, it's very hard to do deals with teams in the same conference. Playoff teams will usually choose to deal with lottery teams(Portland and Phoenix). We just got unbelievable lucky that SA wanted cap relief instead of Duhon from Chicago.
Brooks got strong finish in the hoops and has confidence of a true PG player. I prefer him over Almond!
I would have taken Almond on draft night. But right now it's a toss up betwee them (Almond's size/versatility). Either way I am very content with having Brooks.
Isn't the better question: Aaron Brooks or Rudy F? Wasn't Rudy F the player whom we tried to move to #20 to select? I think Morey stated that Brooks was the 2nd player he wanted behind Fernandez. If he's being honest then the question of Almond is spurious.
