yeah comcast is pretty bad ass on giving you ten more movie channels.
    disconnecting your service..
not de-activating your set top boxes..
just going to your house and cut the cable..

then me going back there and fixing it all up..
    thanks comcast.

    FREEEEEEE DIGITAL CABLE SON!!
    lol

Most of the DVR's are still the same ones they had from Time Warner. I'd be happy if they would actually get "new" ones with the comcast software/display guide (all it basically is now is the same thing from Time Warner, but with a comcast logo when you press the guide).

The "switch" is still mostly cosmetic in nature so far. Sort of like when a stadium gets new naming rights... its still basically the same stadium. All the infrastructure is still Time Warner's.... the service centers are the same ones that Time Warner used... the HD boxes/modems are still the same old ones left over from time warner. Tech support/technicians may be new... as many were brought in for the anticipated "switch" problems... but I wouldn't be suprised if many were also hold-overs from Time Warner (and thus have no clue about things such as new modems for faster internet, the new on-demand, and new channels).

wait, what? b/c there was this girl that went to my high school and became a UT EE who looks a lot like her and who i always think of when the commercial plays (and who strangely enough is named kristen since someone mentioned kristin kreuk). that isn't her is it? i thought i looked up who it was once and it wasn't.

edit: holy F that is her! i don't how i couldn't look it up before but i found it pretty easily this time. she seems to look a tiny bit different, but i almost thought it had to be her. so she went the acting route. she was a valedictorian but got a 17 in calculus her last semester b/c our high school doesn't count grades the second semester of your senior year. that's about all i know about her.

I had my service go in and out on my internet for 3 weeks, I had THREE 3 incompetent techs come out and look at the problem the last one was at my place on a SUNDAY from 8pm till 10pm.. This third tech said everything in my home was fine, but there was a problem in the line.. I don’t understand why he was trouble shooting the problem backwards.. IMO he should have started outside at the line and worked his way into the house not spend 2 hours inside and in 10 minuets find the problem outside...

This last tech said there was nothing he could do and he would place a order for a line guy to come out and look at the problem.. Well another few days go by and still nothing, I decided to call Comcast and of course they tell me "we don’t show a line tech scheduled to come out, would you like to setup another appointment for a tech to come out?"

Really, after the third tech and another screw up on your end you want to start this crap all over again? It’s CRAPTASTIC!!

Also, Comcast’s phone bank is a POS IMO, I was disconnected twice because I was pissed that the phone tech couldn’t answer most of my questions or could care less that I was even calling..

Finally after lots of run around I now have internet service at home again, I knew there would be some growing pains, but what I got to deal with was pure madness..

I’ve made my decision that after my agreement is up with my home security contract I will be canceling all 4 of my services for sure..

I have had no problems as of yet.

and as for the HD DVRs.....Ive been thru a half dozen of them over the last couple years.
It isnt Comcast, these are the same exact boxes TW used.

UVerse isnt gonna be widely available for a while longer.

I already looked into it for the Houston area...it sounds great, but I dont have much faith in AT&T

it sounds basically like television and internet service, really. the great part, to me, was the price, which is definitely cheapr than TW/Comcast.....assuming it works.

    but its not here anyway.

i do a fair amount of internet and tv at home, but $140 a month every month makes me want to shoot someone, really...

2 boxes, 1 hd and dvr, hbo package, sports package and regular roadrunner

the big deal for me is they are advertising very impressive speeds.

I know what ya mean on the cost of my TV and Inet

    2 HD DVRs
    1 HD cable card
    1 regular box
Digital Plus + sports + HD package + one premium

Earthlink RR (5 bucks less than regular RR)

    still right at 130.

but I have been on DSL, and had a sat system

    Im happier with RR/Comcast

No service losses when it rains, DSL simply isnt near as fast as RR.

Yeah, you get the NFL network and 4 or 5 other sports stations. I think they are Fox Sports channels. There's one that shows a lot of classic college football games. It's not ESPN Classic, it's another one.

    It's totally worth the money.
