Double U Tee Eff! July 16, 2007, 1:55PM Police seek clues in sexual assault of Metro driver By MIKE GLENN Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle The search for a man who robbed and sexually assaulted a Metro bus driver early Sunday is continuing today as police canvass the area for any clues about the assailant. "This is an individual we want to get apprehended very quickly," Metro Police Chief Tom Lambert said today. The attack happened about 6 a.m. shortly after the assailant refused the driver's commands to leave the empty bus when it arrived at the end of its route, Metro police said. When the bus stopped near Tres Lagunas and Rio Bonito, the man walked to the front, grabbed the driver's hair and put a gun to her head. "He dragged her to the back of the bus and that's where the assault took place," said Metro police investigator Cedric Buchanan. Police said he speaks with a thick, Louisiana accent and has bushy hair that once may have been braided. He is 20- to 25-years-old with a dark complexion and a thin but muscular build. The driver, a one-year Metro employee, triggered the panic button when the attacker left the bus. She then drove to Metro's transit center at 11555 Westpark and gave a detailed description of the man. "This is a very traumatic situation," Lambert said today at a Crime Stoppers briefing. "Our full support goes out to her. She's a part of the Metro family." Metro police officials today said they want to speak to a pair of riders who were on the bus but left prior to the assault. "They may have some information for us," Buchanan said. The bus where the assault took place did not have a surveillance camera in place, although Metro police officials acknowledged today they are testing them on 14 other vehicles. "We are looking at expanding (use of cameras) in the future," Lambert said. Metro officials said they will be reviewing security procedures in the transit agency, but that their priority at this point is tracking down the suspect. "There are individuals in this community that will know that person," Lambert said. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Metro police at 713-224-COPS. Crime Stoppers — 713-222-TIPS — is offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest. --- Poor woman. That drawing will give me nightmares. PS What's the difference between rape and sexual assault?
There is no difference between Rape and Sexual Assault. If you are the victim of rape and press charges, the other person will be charged with either Sexual Assault or Aggravated Sexual Assault. There is no criminal charge (in our jurisdiction) called Rape.
Yes they are. Have you seen these women that drive these metro buses? All of them are at least 300lbs.
