I live in Placedo, Texas, which is a little outside of Victoria. Very small town (maybe around 500 people?) in a rural area. Since I go to college at UT, I spend a lot of time in Austin, and I'll probably end up moving there or somewhere with broadband when I'm done with college. So I won't be stuck without broadband for much longer. It does suck though...doesn't help that the service itself isn't all that great either. I think I heard that they are rolling out broadband in parts of the town though.
That killzone trailer reminded me of the gameplay footage they showed on IGN which loooked really great, until it became the most tedious thing I have ever seen in a game promo. Basically the main character kept pushing a button, then firing at part of an antenna type thing that would open up these doors. Then it would close. THen you would have to tediously go through the button pushing animation again. Start to fire at the antenna thing. Go through the reload animation. Oops, now the doors closed again. Push the button again. Fire at the antenna thing again. Congratulations you've destroyd one part. Now repeat the whole sequence 5 tiems while just standing there and not being shot at. Now that's what I call a game promo.
Yeah, that part was really bad. I started to cringe after the 3rd button press. Maybe it sounded good on paper, but it certainly didn't seem very fun at all in reality. The game still hasn't reached alpha AFAIK, so there is still some time to fix that. I'm guessing it will be fixed when it is in the beta stage...maybe even before that since it seems like an obvious problem in the design of that level (should be the #1 complaint from the testers most likely, outside of any technical bugs or glitches that kill the game). I always cringe when I see the floating gun too, although that should be easy to fix as well.

a lot of those games looked like something i'd have fun playing but once halo 3 comes out i doubt i'll be interested in any of the other ones. actually i'm more interested in nba 2k8 than anything else.
I voted for Halo, but I have to say, I'm pretty excited about lots of upcoming games. I know there's a big backlash against Halo in general, but for some reason it's just a fun game for me. Which is ultimately what I look for in a game, so... plus I can't wait to move past the lame ending of Halo 2. I thought about voting for LittleBigPlanet, but I need to see if it's really just a glorified tech demo. It's definitely amazing looking and beautiful, but I'm still not sure I understand exactly what the game is. It's possibly a game that could make me buy a PS3, but could also get old quickly for me. Mass Effect looks awesome. That Rock Band video didn't look great to me. I think the game will be awesome and lots of fun, but watching some random people up on stage playing it sort of gave me douche chills- especially that woman's dancing.. ugh. I really want to know about pricing, package options, etc. and I want to see details about the drum kit especially. Super Mario Galaxy also looks great. And I think Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles looks like it would be a lot of fun with 2 players. I guess I'll have to finally get a 360.. With Bioshock, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, etc. all coming out. Hopefully they'll finally do a price drop/hardware revamp soon.
I didn't think it deserved to be GOTS at all. Maybe if it was playable, or if they were showing the 1st or 2nd trailer for the game (like last E3). Not that I didn't enjoy the new trailer though. The game is basically like the RPG Maker games, although for the platformer genre (though I guess it might be possible to make a non-platformer). The tools are a lot better and easier to work with (one of the best parts about the game IMO), and the game also supports cooperative play and sharing of levels much more so than previous games that allowed you to create content yourself. That, and it seems to be a lot more fun just playing with the level editor in this game than any other game prior to it. They're planning on revealing some more info about the game at TGS...something about enemies possibly. Ideally, the game wouldn't get old at all since people (both gamers and various developers in the industry) would constantly be creating new and fresh content for it all the time.
starcraft 2 looks good, but it i was a little surprised that it looker, superficially at least, just like the last one. Im sure animations are better and such but im curious what other tidbits they add, for example, greater camera control/zooming/angles, etc would be a nice addition. Still, even if its just like the last game it will be good. I hated those zerg ambushes, and especially those suicide guys...dudes would just pop up all around you I caught a little blurb about a potential team being put together for diablo III...talk about awesome.
