the press (most of them picked a game from this list as their GOTS), but I know I still left out a lot of contenders, especially from the PC (like Crysis). I am really looking forward to Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed Killzone 2 looks badass same with Mass Effect and COD 4 damn so many games
COD4 it came out of nowhere and it had a live demo plus they opened a public beta for the 360 owners. can't beat that. honorable mention: Virtua Fighter 5 online with arcade stick
Lots of good stuff coming this Fall. As tinman mentioned, COD4 was surprisingly good, and I'm hoping to see more on AC. As for game of the show, it's a toss up for me between Mario Galaxy, LBP and Mass Effect. I'd probably go with Galaxy, because I felt like I haven't seen a good console Mario game since Mario 64.
Did Spore get moved back again? I was hoping to see some more on this game since in years past, some of the demos they showed for it seemed to already be highly polished.
Not sure there was any one game that stole the show. Lot of really good software coming up together though. I really wish Bungie would have outsourced the CGI cutscenes again like they did for the first 2 halos. I don't like these ingame cinematics at all. It's like the nice CGI inserts are your reward for playing the 1sp player mode for hours on end.
Yeah, I think it got moved back to EA's next fiscal year (which begins in April 08). They didn't want to show it again at E3 this year, but they will show it at the Leipzig Games Conference next month.
Which game system is Assassin’s Creed scheduled to be released for? That game looks incredible with all the AI that is built into it.
doesnt seem like any 1 game stole the show. it was really a balanced e3. We all kinda knew what was coming anyways. halo 3, assassins, MGS4, killzone 2, metroid, galaxy, etc. i would venture to say the biggest "surprise" really was the introduction of wii fit (the hardware in general particularly)...maybe that news leaked prior, but i hadnt caught wind of it.
It was known that Miyamoto was working on a "health" game for the Wii for quite a while IIRC (maybe as far back as the Wii's launch?). We even had the name of the game...sort of. The hardware was new though. But there were definitely bigger surprises at E3 IMO, although whether they'll have the same impact as Wii Fit is debatable.
I remember the wii fit idea, but the hardware caught me off guard. what surprises? to me, introducing an additional piece of input device that takes one a step closer to having a fully emercive experience in a game is much more of a surpise than the release of some of the games showed. Maybe in the long run it will suck and some game will be the best ever but it just opens so many more possibilities, potential and interest into what games can actually accomplish. maybe its just another power glove, but even the power glove drove peoples imagination. At least its much more bold than presenting another fps, rpg, or whatever other type of game. Certainly more intriguing than an halo 360 and a 33% smaller psp.
I'm not afraid, I just don't have the connection to do so (no broadband). I don't have a 360 (or Xbox), so I don't have a gamertag. I might try out Live for Windows at some point though...maybe after they make a few changes. For the most part, I didn't really find the announcement of Wii Fit all that surprising. I almost knew for a fact that they would announce the game (even knew the name), and I think there were rumors of a new peripheral for it as well. And even if there weren't, it doesn't really surprise me that Nintendo introduced a new peripheral for it (that's part of the philosophy behind the Wii). Some things I had no clue about, such as the NCSoft announcement, the Disney XBL deal, the announcement of Infamous (knew Sucker Punch was working on something, but not that), RE5 being at E3, etc. In addition, things like the Scene-It announcement I may have known a little bit about, but I didn't know as much about it as Wii Fit. Again, Wii Fit may end up having more of an impact than any of these things, which may be what you're trying to say, but the actual announcement of it wasn't all that surprising IMO.
i see what you mean and i could agree with that. Saying RE5 is coming does get more of an initial reaction that saying look at this piece of hardware and what it may (or may not) bring about.
Nope. Broadband isn't offered in my area. My family probably pays more for our ISDN connection than a lot of people pay for their broadband connection actually.
