I honestly don't know why people on this BBS are so infatuated with Alexander Johnson. The Rockets don't value him as highly as many of you think they do. Remember, the Rockets traded for the #44 pick in the 2006 Draft (where Johnson was still available) but chose to draft Lior Eliyahu over him. And the team needed a young PF at the time, too. Now, in this year's draft (which is widely regarded as one of the deepest drafts in NBA history), the Rockets traded a future pick and cash to get the very first pick of the second round to take Carl Landry. I honestly think the team views Landry as a superior prospect to Alexander Johnson. People need to calm down about adding a sixth power forward to a roster that already includes 18-19 players under contract or expected to be re-signed.

reminds me of stromile a bit. athletic big man with questions about his hands and intangibles. wouldnt be a bad pickup, but i doubt the rockets do it.

If he was really that good, the GM wouldn't have gone out and said he isn't worth $600,000.

Yeah he's good, I'm really surprised they didn't at least traded him for a future second rounder or something. He's worth a try IMO...

All the people that like Chris Wilcox should like Alexander Johnson. Same type of skills but not even as polished as Wilcox. He has more athletic upside than Landry. Doesnt necessarily mean better player....but for those who want that high flying dunker next to Yao again he'd be a guy to do that...

Can he rebound and play some defense? I haven't seen him play.
