So it sounds like Aaron Brooks can.... "quarterback" this team.....hardy har Along with his lack of size, sharing the same name as a third-rate signal caller in the NFL couldnt have helped him much...too much connotation there. He'da probably not even gotten drafted at all if his real name was Ryan Leaf
Can somebody give me a photo of him holding his jersey after draft day? I can't seem to find it -__-"
AB has a lot to learn about playing defense. Too many times he completely loses track of his man when he goes under a pick. In the NBA regular season that is unacceptable. Hopefully he will put a lot of effort into it and improve as time goes on. One thing Mike James brings every game is aggression and intensity on defense. Maybe AB can learn from him.
I could have sworn I read somewhere that Scola was being offered $15M over four years by his Spanish team or one of the Greek teams. It was late and now I can't find it. It's hard to believe our good fortune. Apologies for the "Darkwing Duck" thing -- it just struck me as funny.
Brooks getting Props all over NBA.COM http://www.nba.com/summerleague2007/players/brooks_071147.html R2MVP SL By Maurice Brooks Article LAS VEGAS, July 14, 2007 -- At the 2007 NBA Draft, the Rockets weren't one of the teams with a lottery pick. Still, after drafting Aaron Brooks with the 26th overall selection, Houston feels as if it has the winning ticket. Coming into the NBA Summer League, Brooks’ name was not mentioned amongst the headliners. It should have been. Brooks has been the most consistently dominating player through the first eight days. As a defender, there is no correct way to successfully stop him. Give him room and he will splash a jumper in your face. Push up on him and he will use his blinding first step to skate past you. “This league fits my game well,” Brooks said. “Speed wise, it is perfect. I love the open floor and getting out in space.” In some cases, numbers lie. Brooks’ 24 points, 6.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game, however, speak the truth. He has been spectacular. “This has been a lot of fun,” Brooks said. “It is a lot of work, but it has been interesting.” After having nine turnovers against Dallas two nights ago, Brooks came back and had none the next day. It is that kind of improvement that has people in Houston realizing they have a special player on their hands. “That was way too many turnovers so I knew I had to play better,” said Brooks, who led the Pac-10 in scoring (17.7 points per game) and was fifth in assists (4.3) while at Oregon last season. “I was too eager. I know now to slow things down. I have to play under control, pick my spots and try to keep improving. Brooks didn't have a huge game, as far as stats are concerned, tonight against the Kings, but he did just enough to help the Rockets get the victory. He scored 17, grabbed five rebounds and gave out three assists. Brooks has notched eight assists in one game and seven in another this week. After coming close to getting 10 helpers twice, Brooks said he has a couple of simple goals he would like to accomplish before leaving Las Vegas. “First of all, I want us to win our games,” Brooks said. “Secondly, I want to go out and get a double-double.” At this point, nobody who has seen him play would bet against him.

draftexpress.com reported the offer wsa 10 million Euros for 5 years, which equals 13.7 million US Dollars for 5 years.
Maybe it was a Euros vs. Dollars translation. However, is it true that in Europe basketball players don't pay any income tax? If so, wouldn't that make the net money a better deal in Europe?
HOLY DONKEY JUMPING RABBI SNORK JAMBALYA MOOCH!!!! That dunk was tasty as a baby covered in BBQ sauce.
I wonder if he knows about that his NBA basketball income is not exempt from the 36-39% income tax(he would be in the highest bracket). It seems wierd that he would take a contract for half as much Net Income.
Holy cow the kid can DUNK! Dunking ducks man, Aaron Brooks is plain sick! Ughh, I don't regret the pick anymore... This is genius!
Just wanted to let you know that as a student at U of O I saw Brooks dunk ONCE in a game... Now he is throwing down allyoops! He must have been saving it for you guys. One game this year he went up for a dunk and missed it, but it was a pre-season blowout and he laughed it off. Last year at "midnight madness" the first practice of the season they had a dunk contest and brooks ran and was lofted into the air by 7 footer Ray Schafer for the dunk. He must have really worked on his vertical leap in the last year. I know he registered 39.5 at the draft combine.
Damnnnnn, sick hops by Brooks. Even though this is summer league, this kid is beaming with potential. I'd like to JLIII do that! Brooks one upped him.
