So, you think that some video posted on the internet is more conclusive than a medical exam? Unless anybody has actually seen a two year old on ecstasy, I think I'd take the doctor's word on this. If a hair follicle test comes back positive, I'll be happy to admit I was wrong...
I think video evidence of a child from the date in question is more indicative of what a child had going on in her bloodstream than a medical exam a month later, yes. I think video evidence of you in June at a bar acting drunk is better evidence of whether you were drunk that night than a medical exam of you a month later...absolutely. You're reading into this exam a ton more than is there. The doctor isn't saying, "the child did not have X in her system when the video was made." You need a hair follicle test to do that, as I understand it.
maybe more indicative, but definitely not conclusive Really? So, there's no possible way that I could have just acted drunk, but still be sober? Did you go to law school with Lionel Hutz or something? (just kidding). According to the story, the doctor said that there's no evidence the child was given the dangerous drug. Hell, we don't even know if a hair follicle test provides conclusive proof or not. Anyways, my point was not whether the kid was given ecstasy, but whether people overreacted to a video they saw without getting more information. I mean heck, the video is titled "child on X", so the child MUST be on X, right? I don't know, maybe having children gives you a different POV on things.
You seem to have a problem with reading more into what's written than is actually there. When did I say conclusive? And yeah, I think it's a lot more possible that you as an adult would act drunk than a 2 year old child would act high...complete with eyes rolling back in her head. Based on the medical exam a month later, there's no evidence she had X. Great. I'm not sure how that's dispositive of the issue of whether she had X in her system a month ago...which was the question which we sought to have answered. The reaction to the video is because it's disgusting. Because the 2 year old child isn't in a car seat, and the people in the car are talking about her using drugs while her eyes are rolling back in her head. Yeah...there's gonna be a reaction to this. Which is why these kids are living with their grandparents right now...even after the medical exam.
They had the mother on the news and the little girl last night in Houston. The little girl showed them she can roll her eyes back like that whenever she wants to. The mom claims she saw it on the movie the Grudge 2.
did the little girl have a drugged up look on her face? unresponsive to the environment? glossed over eyes? rolling her jaw?
i havent seen the interview, but everyday i see parents/kids that make me depressed out the future. Scary to imagine what it will be like in 30 years
I am not trying to pass myself off as an expert but as part of my work at a crisis shelter (for kids from birth to age 6) I do an initial screenings on the kids to check for any signs of potential abuse and to see that the child is responding normally. If a child came in that acted just like the one in the video I would have Child Protective Services there as quickly as possible. If they can't "prove" this child was one something I am still convinced something abnormal is going on.
Interview with Mother: http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=2983 Yes she rolls her eyes on command but look at her face -- how she acts and responds. Look at the face of the child in the news then look at the face of the child in the video.
U know what's sad? What if it turns out the kid really was on X(Jury is still out there), and she is told REPEATEDLY by her mother to say she was "playing"; saying that she saw it from the movie Grudge. Also receiving all this sudden media and police attention. I wonder what's going through the kids mind. How twisted is the mother to make her daughter lie to save her own ass? I mean kids that age, will do ANYTHING to protect their mother or father. I still remember, as a kid in first or second grade I lied to protect my father when the school asked me if my parents hit me(because of a bruise), even though he did give me a good ol fashioned ass whoopin =P. I didn't want to see him go to jail. When you're a kid, you'll lie for your parents no matter what. Plus, what is a 2 year old girl doing watching THE GRUDGE anyway??? Sounds like a LOAD of CRAP to me. The family probably got together to come up with their best possible STORY for their video. But it still sounds like they pulled it straight out of their ass. If that's the best you can come up with, Good for you! This family obviously isn't the sharpest tool in the shed
"everybody dues them" well that clip ruined my day. ANd there was a clear difference in that kid from there and the car video. Watching gridge 2!??! sweet lord, take me now!
The child does respond in the video. Most of the time she grabs her cheeks and her eyes go back and almost immediately she rolls them back up again. Later in the video she smiles and half laughs indicating what I perceive as the child knowing that she is doing it and it's getting a reaction. She also rubs her eyes at the end of the video as if she has done it too much and it's hurting a bit. I don't think she was on ecstasy myself. Kids will do the darndest things and mimic what they see which is normal. I do think that the people in the car have probably been in that environment before and the child was probably around so she probably has seen these things going on and might be mimicing that instead of the movie but I have my doubts and from the video I can't be convinced of anything other than that the parent should have had her in a babyseat at least.
what little chance that kid had to grow up a productive member of society has all gone down the toilet.
It never ceases to amaze me the things people will predict about someone they've never met based on two minutes of video.
