    imsobored,

go read the SA board, they know their team better than you do.

it is ALL about the money.

all your questions in regard to why the SPurs do this can be answered....

there are quite a few morons posting out their butts(like any forum), but you can tell the members who know what they are talking about.

Im all for this...you would have to be braindead not to be.

Scola could possibly be starter material..possibly....he certainly seems to have the talent.

Im just pleased to see my decision to allow Morey to show me what he is made of seems to be working out....this is a VERy solid move, and I also think Brooks and Harris will be solid contributers.

kinda goes to show ya....hasty reactions to situations like Moreys performance so far seem to lead to much crow eating

I look forward to seeing if it happens in this case.

What's with the roll eyes? Does it offend you that I can read faster than you or have the stamina to push on and read those last 3 pages?

I think Scola's nickname should be "Uncle Jesse."

Hopefully he plays in the NBA THIS season...I get the feeling Morey knows something about the situation for this season

Well, for ppl who wonder why Spurs is doing this, my guess is for this trade is actually:

    1) Spurs will be over the luxuary tax limit if they don't do the trade and they cannot sign the players they want in the summer.

    2) Butler's contract is $2.5 Mil, Vspan after release is $1.9 Mil, Cash consideration of $2 Mil just in case Vspan stays, that's a total of $6.4 Mil for two players that they don't really need and want to get rid of... (I am not going to write out why Spurs don't need these guys since there are plenty of ppl talked about that already)

    3) They opened up a roster spot, got under the LT limit, and have money to sign someone they want..

** I am just guessing on the amount of cash consideration.

current roster (assuming landry is signed, hayes & dekes resign, scola comes over)

    rafer, james, brooks, lucas
    mcgrady, snyder, head
    battier, bonzi, reed
    scola, hayes, landry, novak
    yao, deke, butler

    17 guys on a roster
my guess is lucas is definately gone (could we steal 2nd rounder for him)
but no clue on who else because we could use all of them
side note: (as some have said) from 2 summer league games, id love to see harris make the team

dont think we are resigning deke anymore. need to trade rafer and lucas pronto. package reed with sura contract for a servicable reserve or draft pick.

    Great...we got something for nothing.

So does this mean we are relying on Luis to start for us, or are we still in the market for a PF? We still have a huge logjam on the perimiter (James, Alston, Lucas, Sura, Brooks, Head, T-Mac, Battier, Wells, Snyder).
