I wasn't sure where to put this and was debating between the BBS Classifieds, Hangout, and GARM...I just decided to put it here. Feel free to move if necessary. This offseason is really slow, and I thought I would share this gem with the rest of you...it really threw me off when I saw it. On the Grizzlies' website, there's a link to a page on eBay putting up Battier's former pimped out '81 Lincoln for sale. I just found it hilarious imagining the Duke alum who speaks more eloquently than most politicians cruising in this pimp mobile! Take a look for yourself: Link to his Blackhawk on eBay There are pictures to scroll through. Haha, look at that interior! I'm not sure if he is the actual seller or someone within the Grizzlies organization is doing it for him...or maybe he just gave it to the Grizzlies and didn't want to drive it down to Houston. Either way, I can tell Memphis still loves him based on the fact that it's on their team homepage! I had to share.
I actually pictured Battier as driving something environmental friendly or something, like one of those hybrids. Or maybe a minivan.
i picture him riding an old bicycle with a rich white girl like the scene with Owen Wilson in Wedding Crashers
I wonder if he ever really drove this. He may have temporarily "owned" it -- as in he paid for some company to fix it up and donate to a charity auction. He let them put his name on it to help it jack up the price.
I can't imagine seeing Bat driving around in that thing, it'd be like seeing Mr. Rogers in a Gwar video
Back in the 90's, I owned a Porsche 928 that originally was owned by Moses Malone. First off, I took the r****ded pinstripes off. Second I found some massive-ass fingernail clippings under the gear-shift. Bought the car for $12,000. Put another $16,000 into it on fixing it up and repairs. Sold it in 1997 for $7,000. IMO, not a good buy.
We work on these kinds of cars all the time. I really dont see what the big deal about them is but some people really love them. Spend some major cash decking them out with audio and what not. I personnaly like it when the old school classics like the chargers and mustangs roll through. Very fun working on.
