rashard is gone and artest wants to retire as a king, so i don't know what other available player would be worth giving up battier anyways.

i hope we keep him...he is a good guy who plays the game the way it should be...but we still need a pf

 

All of this good guy image stuff means nothing at all in the playoffs.

Stephen Jackson has done more in his career on the court, and had way more trouble off the court than Battier and has

A. won a ring

B. Helped get his team out of the 1st round

C. All the while the teams best player (Baron Davis) called him their leader

D. Beat a team the Rockets couldn't. The Mavs.


I don't care about a guy who can only hustle on defense and his entire offense arsenal is dependant on someone else creating a wide open shot, especially when it doesn't = playoffs wins. He's like a very poor mans Bruce Bowen at this point and he won't get any better than he is now.

Oh big no, Rockets keep S. B. not because of Peak group or some ridiculous sentimental affection but because he is one of the best role players who every champion team needs.

I only trade him as a part of deal for Matrix, not camby, not ron artest.

 

I really hope we keep him. Camby, though...I'd be tempted.

 

Keep Battier, good roleplayer pf, if we can possibly get one more great roleplayer we will be a beast of a team
