I don't think he'll ever be a good enough rebounder to play the 4. Oh well, I hope he proves me wrong.
Yeah that is my thinking also. He might be able to turn into an OK defender if he plays smart and uses his quickness. However, he will be lucky to be able to rebound even as well as Juwan. I suppose if we run out good rebounders at the other positions like a lineup of James, Bonzi, TMac, Novak, and Deke it might work.
I think if JVG had Kapono, he'd have been glued to the bench too. What's the knock on Kapono?? Slow and isn't particularly a great defender. Yet..through it all guess what??!!?? Pat Riley still found a way to use him.
JVG forgot the golden rule in organizations. Your boss is your biggest fan and you cannot forget that. If you piss off your biggest fan, he's going to have your head. You gotta please your boss and do what makes him happy. Sitting all these players on the bench that the boss paid good money for does not make the boss happy. Strike One Playing a slowdown grind it out game after being told run a more uptempo offense does not make the boss happy. Strike Two Being dour and defiant despite being told to improve public relations does not make the boss happy. Strike Three and..... HE"S OUTTA HERE!
What are you basing this on? Surely it wasn't from his action in games and just word of mouth. Novak hasn't proved anything to where he can be compared to the No.1 3-point shooter in the league. But I do think he should be a valuable contributor considering Adelman's system.
Last year, Novak wasn't 1/10th the player Kapono was. Did you even see Kapono play? Novak was completely timid and clueless on offense and didn't hit 50% from long range like Kapono did. If you compare their rookie years, Novak and Kapono aren't much different. It took Kapono 4 years to become a worthwhile player in the NBA. Hopefully it doesn't take Novak that long. You guys have to realize the dead horse (JVG) has been beaten to a pulp and the remains have been cleaned up. He's gone now. Get over it.
he just needs a few games in a row where he hits 3-4 threes. and its over, the guy will be averaging 8-9 points a game.
Novak wasn't timid tonight. But he wasn't hitting either. He looks bigger and is playing center??? OOOOOKKKKKKK Anyways, give him a few games to get his sights back. He may have gained a little too much muscle so his touch is a little off.
