    How so?

Pryuen's translation (of that statement) is nearly verbatim.

Didn't this homesick stuff come up just recently? I don't remember him claiming this throughout the year. Of course, it could have just been the media picking and choosing what to report, but all I remember is his complaining about JVG and playing time.

Honestly, I think it's a lame excuse, and I'm glad Morey is not letting him out of the contract. Quite frankly, I'm really sick of atheletes thinking they own the leauge and can just demand whatever they heck they want anyway. But that's a rant I'll save for a more appropriate time... :D

I agree this homesick stuff is a bunch of crap. He probably has a bigger contract waiting for him in Greece, but the Rockets should do everything in their power to get maximum value out of this situation. A player just can't hold a team hostage like this when it has two max players and is over the cap.

Agreed, but I just think people would be less inclined to hate on you if you cut down on the "I told ya so" or establishing your position over and over again (VSpan). It wouldn't be far fetched to say that at least half the board probably thought about bashing you once that VSpan Chronicle article came out. ;)

Well in the Chinese websites, there are already articles speculating that if VSpan persists not to return to Houston to honour his contract, the Rockets might be forced to apply an international ban on Spanoulis from FIBA that will ban him out of the Greek league, Eurobasket 2007, Olympics, World Championship......

They can stop him from playing for another club but not for his country.

I'm not a mean person, but really think VSpan is doing them wrong.

So, all I have to say to this is....NNNNIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCEEEEE! :)

Well if the ban is an international one issued by FIBA, then he can't play in any FIBA tournaments....and that include Eurobasket 2007, Olympics and World Championships....I supposed.

That seems excessive... If the Rockets really want to play hardball, I imagine it would be enough for them to insist that he complete his contract here before allowing him to sign somewhere else. I doubt they would try to get him banned from his national team, or that FIBA would do so even if the Rockets requested it.

I deserve all of that, I went overboard on my defense of V-Span, though none of my beliefs have changed.

And.....PSSST....come in close......I still think he will be playing in Houston this year - I know that is wacked out given all the talk, but I just think Morey will force the issue and V-Span will get his feelings in order once he meets with Adelman.....

And when it happens, I will try not to say "told ya so"

    TRY !

    :D

Hmmm, you are aware of what the "S" in "SG" stands for, correct? Just asking...

Call it a 2-guard, whatever. Rooting for a team that had Juwan Howard as a Power Forward for three years makes me forget that those position names should mean something.

Greek press had reported on him and his mother having trouble acclimating to life in the US from very early on...He mentioned it slightly in one of his early blogs too....

The thing is we really don't know what is going on familywise with him.... It could be more a case of his mother pressuring him to return than him wanting to.....

I know that everyone will react like "OMG, what a puss" to that but the truth is with his father dying recently and the stronger family bonds (culturally) it's not the same....

I know if my father died and my mother was left alone and I got a job offer at a different country, if my mother begged me to stay I'd give it up....(Admittedly my mother is the kind of person that would see the bigger picture and would never ask that of me...my point is that IF she did, I'd stay)...
