Mike James: I Have Returned Just Because of Coach Adelman

    Found this from a sina blog of a Chinese Rockets fan who lives in Houston, and acts as a free lance sports writer/reporter for Sina.com.

    In it, he interviewed Mike James while he was conducting a basketball clinic for kids in Houston.

    In Summary

    • His wife Angela is again pregnant; he had already 3 daughters, and he and his wife wish this is going to be a son.
    • He said Rick Adelman is a great coach, and he is confident that Coach Adelman will bring completely new style to the Rockets in the new season. He said the players all have great respect for the coach, and they are all happy to be playing under him.
    • He revealed that it was only 2 weeks after the end of the season, Rick Adelman looked him up, and tried to lure him back to the Rockets. Rick Adelman told him "I would like to have you back to my team; I guarantee you will be of the biggest help to me in my team. I also hope we can work together to do something for the Houston Rockets. You're the only player trade/transaction that I have requested to Daryl Morey."
    • Mike James said he was impressed; and said all he can do now is to keep up his best form and condition; he had been training all this summer. He wakes up at 07:00am, and will be there in Toyota Centre at 07:30am to start his training.

    Cool article, Wake up at 7 and not go to train at Toyota until that evening? I bet he does Self promotion throughout that entire day.

    Also I know Adelman has requested Artest and Bonzi as well so that part seems iffy and a total Mike James ego boost moment.

    so mike couldnt get a poster made with at least a more up to date jersey on it? i mean if it was a wolves jersey thats one thing but promoting it with a raptors jersey? c'mon i know there are plenty of pics of mikes james in a rockets jersey

    Someone cue the video from Mike's Raptors days where he goes off on a 5 minute rant about how awesome yet under appreciated he is.

    Mike James

    I was just looking at his profile again and for some reason thought he was like 29 or 30. Nope. The guy turned 32 this June. I guess he has 2-3 good years left in him. I hope Morey lands us another solid guard to groom in addition to our presumed stud PF.
