I'll be there fo sho. This will be the 11th time I've seen 'em live, but kind of curious as to why they're touring without even releasing a new album?
Wow, Toyota Center. I would have thought Verizon Theater. I don't know, I like all of their songs that have been on the radio, but I don't own any of their albums. Trying to not post the obvious, Lovesong and Just Like Heaven <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iQhh4Xs8RcM"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/iQhh4Xs8RcM" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1_6KPet8Zo8"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1_6KPet8Zo8" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8273rlq1BEI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8273rlq1BEI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Although their popularity hit the max in the early nineties, like Depeche Mode, they have a hardcore following and playing Verizon would be a joke. Tickets would be gone within a matter of minutes, there'd be thousands of pissed of fans without tickets, plus their ego's would nix that idea. I couldn't imagine either playing such a small venue, although it would be absolutely dope to see 'em in a small setting for once. I'd pay good money for that.
I really liked Disintegration, but that's about it. It still ranks as one of my favorites. For me, there are almost ZERO cd's that you can put into the player, push play, and let the whole thing play from beginning to end. AND... not only is it a great disk, it also beings back some amazing memories from when I was with my ex g/f and we would screw like rabbits to that cd. ... good times....
Saw them back in Nashville along with Interpol and some other bands in 2004. Great concert and great band - you guys who have never seen them are in for a treat.
Now that I think about it, they had a concert of there's on Direct TV a couple of months back playing all month long like 101 and it looked huge.
Funny. My buddy just called and wants to go. If we can talk my wife into going we will probably drag our 30 something butts there. (I would feel weird going with just dudes)
I want to go but I don't know if I'll be able too. The Cure was one of my best friends favorite band. She loved them so much. I remember once in 8th grade she said if she ever met Robert Smith she would die a very happy lady. About 10 years later she calls me about 1 o'clock in the morning while I was having a little party. I could barley understand her, she was mumbling, stuttering and crying so bad that I started to cry thinking something was seriously wrong. She just couldn't get it out. My party had stopped with everybody looking and listening to me waiting for any kind of news of what was going on. She finally managed to get it out. She said, "I met Robert Smith!" Apparently she and my friend's wife went to the show in Houston and afterwards they followed them to Dallas and got a room at the same hotel as The Cure. She later met the whole band at the bar of that hotel. A few years later she died while on a road trip in the north eastern US living out another dream of hers. I've never really cared that much about them but I know she would get a kick out of me going.
Got my tickets in the mail today. WOO HOO. Floor D. Row 8 7 Rows closer than at the HSM Concert. Who else got their tickets?
