If I had to rank my favorite movie, I'm going with the Commitments. But really, I love all of these movies so much that it is hard to put one over the other. 1. The Commitments 2. Coal Miners Daughter The Five Heartbeats Eddie and the Cruisers 3. This is Spinal Tap 4. Almost Famous 5. The Doors
haha at the spiceworld one... unless your serious then I say haha at your pitiful self. Anyways, Almost Famous is off the chain
You probably should have left Spinal Tap out of the poll, as it is the obvious runaway winner and is a mockumentary. At least Almost Famous is sort of based on a true story.
i've only seen two of them, almost famous and spinal tap. tough call but i went with almost famous. love that movie.
Spinal Tap Purple Rain* Almost Famous La Bamba Crossroads (1986)* 8 Mile The Harder They Come* The Wall* Performance Eddie and the Cruiser The Rose* Rock and Roll High School And my personal favorite...Top Secret! *How can you start a poll about greatest movies about band/singers without these in the list?!!!!! Look ashamed
I didn't put the wall on the list because it is not really a traditional movie. 8 Mile is not in the same league as the movies on the list, imo. Rock and Roll High School has the ramones in it, but again it is not a traditional band movies. I have honestly never heard of The Harder They Come. So I'm not sure if it should be on the list or not? Others agree about this selection? Opinions? I regret that I forgot la bamba. That movie should be there, no question. Purple Rain and the Rose are so-so. They could be on the list I guess, as well as Crush Groove could be on the list. But I figure that as movies all of these are not-so-great. The music in them are great, though.
Purple Rain is the winner What about Ray Walk the Line The Temptations movie on Vh1 is good Elvis - The Movie (1979) The Buddy Holly Story
I would say The Buddy Holly Story being that I live in Lubbock, but in the scene where he goes to the bus stop in Lubbock to head to Nashville, there are mountains in the background. Finding a mountain in Lubbock would be like having 0% humidity in Houston during August. Great acting and energy, but the facts leave a little to be desired. Best movie about a band? The Blues Brothers, bar none.
