Based on the interviews, Morey says they had a deal worked out for a pick in the early 20's that fell through because the guy the other team wanted was there for them.

My question: who do you think was the guy the Rockets wanted?

Dad gum, my numbering of the picks is messed up... you can figure it out!

They explained it in a Chron article. Miami deal fell through. Fernandez was the target.

    Oh.

Why don't you delete your spoiler and let those of us who didn't read the Chronicle articel have some fun with this guessing?

So, the question has to be asked, when do we get to screw Portland over? They've nailed us 2 years in a row. It's out turn next.

Portland didn't screw us over. We didn't want Fernandez as badly as they did or we could have out bid them for the pick.

According to Jonathan Feigen, Portland also had to take back a bad contract in addition to sending Phoenix the money.

One thing I know is that I wanted them to get Rudy!

But the freaking Suns drafted him, to then trade him to Portland for CASH.
