Mark Berman from Fox (on tonight's news) said that Morey had talked to the agent of Amir Johnson.

i don't know why ya'll hate on rafer so much. he is a solid point guard. But in our system last year was not what we needed, because his 3 wasn't good enough, nor was his tear drop.

but it aint like he sux.

I'd be floored if Denver were willing to trade Camby. He's an integral part of their team & is putting up star player like numbers. While he has missed quite a few games due to injury in the last 4 years, he's actually played in more games per year than in any of the previous 7 years. He's averaging 31.9mpg, 10.9rpg, 3.05bpg, 10.7ppg, & 1.2spg. Even though he's 31 years old, I can't see Denver parting with him.

However, if we were to run with the Denver wanting Head (and who doesn't? :D) angle, how about this trade?

    Houston sends Head/Snyder to Denver.

Denver sends J.R. Smith/Linas Kleiza/#1 pick to Houston.

Smith brings more size than Head & just about as much offense. Kleiza brings a 6'8" 245lb. frame with good rebounding & 3pt range (.376) on his shot. He's a more rounded Chuck Hayes.

Oh yeah, I would do this...and anyone who wouldn't would be smoking crack. I can't even imagine Miami giving up a PF like Haslem. Anyways, if it did happen, I'd get Francis to replace Alston and we'd be all set to go.

Can Haslem cut it in the West? He's only 6'8 and plays in the East. I don't see him being as succesful over here...

Interesting, The Pistons have the upper hand but it's worth exploring.

with the predominant rumor being that they could acquire Mike Bibby from the Sacramento Kings. But Alston is a better floor leader than Bibby, and his attitude is immeasurably better. Given his background with Miami and the depth of the Heat's need at the point, he should be getting a lot of love from South Florida.

Ok did he just say Alston is a better floor leader than Bibby? Did Bibby have that bad of a year last year?

What do you want? Twin Towers with another 7 footer playing on the wing? Darko? blah

Nene I can see...Darko very very average player.

    Maybe Camby.

From what I"ve been reading they want a 4 who can shoot. Who's that? That would be Walter Hermann. But it just doesn't want to register in my head that we would function with Fabio on our squad. Haslem has a midrange shot and he's a decent rebounder who players hard and defends well.

Someone about 6'10 with strength to body up Duncan would be ideal. I don't know who that is exactly, but I would love to get one of the those two Denver bigs. I never really saw Haslem play much so I don't really have a feel for his game, but I know he has a nice baseline jumper. If he'd work out, then thats cool.

Adelman wants a 4 man who can shoot and pass. This new offense is key on ball movement and player movement, understanding pick and roll, pick and pop.Nick collison would be perfect for this system,So would Darko,Haslem isn't ideal,You need someone with more funadamental skills.Ideal a good screen and roll player

Feigan says Morey wants "a traditional power forward".

Well, there has been A LOT of talk about David Lee on these boards and in this thread, so I thought I should share:

    Isiah: I Won't Deal Lee

LAS VEGAS - David Lee has been a one-man trade rumor for months, but Knicks president Isiah Thomas apparently has no plans to move the team's most popular player.

Thomas spoke recently with Lee's agent and informed him that he is not trading the third-year forward. If Thomas is true to his word, it will be difficult for the Knicks to acquire Sacramento's Ron Artest because the Kings would insist on including Lee in a proposed trade.

ISIAH NOT WILLING TO DEAL LEE FOR ARTEST

According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Knick president Isiah Thomas has not made Lee available in talks with Sacramento, nor will he in potential future talks.

The Knicks would likely only pony up Lee in a deal for Kobe Bryant or Kevin Garnett.

Here is another interesting tidbit on a possible solution at the 4:

    http://www.news-herald.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=18560441&BRD=1698&PAG=461&dept_id=21848&rfi=6

If Varejao gets a big offer the Cavs decide to match, team could trade forward Gooden

If the Cavaliers are forced to match an offer sheet to Varejao from the Memphis Grizzlies that they deem exuberant, league sources say they have entertained thoughts of dealing Gooden.
    ________________________________

So, looks like Lee is out of the equation but, though not widly popular around here, Gooden could be a real possibility with the use of Sura's and Spanoulis' contracts thrown in the mix.

    Jonathan,

Great work as usual. A couple of thoughts on potential pick-ups for the Rockets. I've seen the name Milicic mentioned many times, now he's finally free, do you see the Rockets going after him hard? Does he fit in? What about Diaw from the Suns, they're trying to dump salary, just got grant hill, can he play power forward for the rockets?

    Thanks

    Jason

(We have covered Darko to death. Briefly, he is demanding more than the Rockets have to offer, though I would think mid level would be appropriate for the Rockets. Diaw could be a good part of their mix, but Morey has said he wants a traditional power forward. -- Jonathan)

He was talking about Diaw not collinson or Darko.

Note: Hayes' agent also works for Amir Johnson, restricted free agent PF from Detroit. Keep hope alive! :D
