I think he would never plan to do that because he like to live with his parents together, it make him feel better. This is the difference between Chinese and American.
Yao Ming attended a cocktail welcome party thrown by NBA China for the NBA stars (Scottie Pippen, Vlade Divac, Matt Carroll, Chris Duhon, Adonal Foyle, and Luther Head) that arrived for the 2007 Basketball Without Borders Asia Camp to be held July 5 ~ 8
So Yao Ming joined in as one of the coaches for the Basketball Without Borders Asia 2007, which officially commenced today (July 6).
This is basketball Asia, right? Am I the only one who saw white (possibly from northwestern Asia) and Indian/Middle Eastern/Indonesian players? I thought that basketball interest in Asia was nearly entirely Chinese. Is this assumption wrong? Will we some day see FIBA basketball teams from other countries?
It would make sense to me. Basketball seems like the sport of the future. All you need is a basket, a ball, and just a little bit of space to play (which is important when more and more people live in urban areas). Plus it's just so fun. Here's to basketball becoming the new soccer.
Even a non Yao Ming fan will be impressed and moved by the noble character and humanity of Yao Ming in patiently instructing and playing together with a group of intellectually disabled kids on the basketball court in today's Basketball Without Borders Asia 2007 camp.
Yao Ming led the other NBA stars and spent the weekend afternoon in a sort of Read To Achieve activity at a primary school for children (of workers that came to work in Shanghai).
Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking. That this is a totally government prompted photo-op with the Americans and Yao Ming with all the kids dressed in their little red neckerchiefs with perfect clothes? It's probably also a really dressed up school room too. Not that there's anything wrong with that...President Bush's school appearance was similar right before the 911 planes flew into the towers. What purpose will these photo's be used for? Well it's a good photo-op for the Chinese people. It highlights the Charity of the Chinese Gov't and of Yao Ming. That China embraces the NBA works in harmony with the rest of the world. Oh yeah..and China still gives props to Scottie Pippen lol.
You conveniently forgot the Basketball Without Borders Asia is a NBA program, and has nothing to do with the crap you're saying about a Chinese government prompt action/activity....
The school is gov't right? The Olympics have heavy gov't involvement and the gov't is involved in the CBA. Don't tell me it isn't.
You don't seriously think that government officials come to schools to order children to wear red neckerchiefs? I'm pretty sure that any school in any country would want their students to look smart and the classrooms to look good in preparations for China's biggest stars (and a few tagalongs ).
But as I've said, this Basketball Without Borders Asia program is a NBA program. Every of its activities are conceptualized, programmed and initiated by NBA....and NOT CBA or Chinese Government. Well..... the most you can say is that Shanghai Municipal government provided NBA its full co-operation in allowing the Read To Achieve activity to be organized there at that school. Just look it this way. If you're willing to organize an activity to promote and raise my image, will I refuse it? So what you said this is a Chinese government prompted activity to highlight the charity of Chinese government and that of Yao Ming is still BULLCRAP.
