Penn is the best PG right now. It may change after March madness though.

Draft Day is couple days before free agent signing I think.

The bulls want Mimh. They were flirting with the idea of trading for kandi. I don't think they want Morris too much cuz Artest and Toni and possibly Hill will be at SF. They would take Richardson or Demarr though if Mimh's gone cuz they need an upgrade at guard.

Also although I don't think Haywood is worth it but Bulls might select him. He's the other 7 foot center with lots of potential.

Don't forget its not the Warriors picking, its Orlando's. I could see them taking Morris.

Sure we could list the underclassmen but who do you know is going to come out? 2 of 3 players we are avidly discussing are juniors. And the other is a senior. I only listed the others cuz they are on the rocket scout's list. The only people on my list we should consider are:

    Morris
(Complete game, can do it all)

    Martin
(kinda short, but great defender, and has an offense game now)

    Mimh
(he's kinda slow, but a good half court center. Can rebound, block shots, and has a post up game)

    Demarr
(How many 6'9" guards do you know? Could of skipped HS to NBA. So good he was flirting with the idea to turn pro after 11th grade. Can play 1,2,3)

    Richardson
(Not our need but a very good rebounder and can do it all)

    Murphy
(Unbelievable PF, still needs some more time, but is he coming out this year?)

    Darius Miles
(best HS in the country right now)

    Mickeal
(A second-tier SF and if we lose out on Morris, there isn't much of a drop-off.)

    Achebe:

So your saying 6th + drew isn't high enough to get a 2nd pick? Mimh or Martin will go number 1. Big men always go before the small guys. You're undervaluing Drew cuz he isn't needed on our team. For those like the Clips and Toronto, Drew is like God to them. You'd be surprised how much he's worth around the league. Drew will be nothing more than backup, we can always replace him with a 2nd round pick. That's his worth to us.

Can't really speak for the non-Longhorns you mentioned, but that's not exactly the high-post center-type I was thinking of... Mihm isn't really a face-up-and-take-it-in kind of big guy like Robinson- he'll take it outside and shoot the open j, like Laimbeer used to in the 'Zeke offense'- that's the closest I can come to what the rocks are looking to do.

Would Rik Smiths be a good example?

I was reading the scouting reports for the 1998 draft by Marty Blake. Get this:

Dirk went #9 and is scoring 18.5 ppg now. I'm having trouble finding quality reports from European leagues. Anyone finding anything on the Internet about available young players from Europe?

Anyone know what is up with Simon Dwight from Australia.

Here's 1998 draft scouting report on him (he didn't come out, yet):

    Blake On sleepers:
Well, the ones we project at sleepers a year from now are still sleeping (laughs). There are two that come to mind in this year's draft. One is Ryan Bowen, 6-9, 220 from Iowa, who will be a second-round pick. And the other is Simon Dwight, 6-9, 225, from Canberra in Australia. He is probably the best player in Australia, and could conceivably go in the first round.

Who's the most athletic player in the Draft?
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Marty Blake at 3:11pm ET
Oh, you can't tab one player as the most athletic. Vince Carter is an exceptional athlete. Ruben Patterson is a tremendous athlete. Simon Dwight is a tremendous athlete. They combine athleticism with basketball ability, and that's what makes a great player. You hear about all these phenoms who play on the playgrounds in the U.S. -- they are all good athletes, but they are not good basketball players. That's why they are still on the playground. But I think I would say Vince Carter and Simon Dwight are two very athletically talented basketball players.

    Lee Nailon report:

Lee Nailon, whose draft rights are held by the Charlotte Hornets after they picked him in the second round (43rd overall) out of Texas Christian in the 1999 NBA Draft, is scoring 19.3 ppg for Adecco Milano (4-7). Nailon is shooting 55 percent from the field and 71 percent from the line.

Anyone know if he actually got cut by the Hornets, or just didn't want to play there.

This draft, in my opinion, is EXTREMELY weak. No franchise players available from the beginning.

I can't get excited over this years draft. At best, Kenyon Martin(who I believe is probably the best player in college) will be a slightly better version of Robert Horry. Thank God for Francis.
