what does that say about the groom? I'm Best Man for one of those 7/7/07 at 7pm weddings coming up...maybe you've heard about the craze? So, this is not your typical wedding. No parents attending from either side and the bride and groom are flying into Houston for their wedding. Plans are kinda hectic. All I know is as Best Man my responsibilities are: Bachelor Party get the groom to the wedding on time first toast no? sounds easy until I go to Colorado for 20 days in June. Some wannabe's parents of the bride/groom want to plan the Bachelor Party in my absence, "At our wedding, we did this..." lalalala...shut up. Yeah, the couple was nice enough to call me....WHEN I WAS OUT OF CELL PHONE RANGE ON 14ers in Colorado? Helloooo...no, you can't hear me because I'm on vacation!!!! foolishness So, I came back this week to find a "Bachelor Party" organized for July 6th where women and stuff (the bride's side) are invited (on a schtupid Friday...with women...like that's what we usually call a rehearsal dinner,,,,idiots). the inertia was snowballing...while i'm Colorado...what? can't stop it. So, I talked to the groom today to apologize and 'splain that apparently I've been emasculated from my #1 Best Man duty. He is so stressed at this point that he said..."That's ok, the Friday party is great, but I'm not doing shots or anything like that the night before." Did I say he sounded stressed? 5 guys have asked me what the hell is up with this Friday party and the groom kinda (over the phone, he's still not in town) giggled about traditional bachelor party thingies. I think I'm forced to organize a secret Bachelor Party with big fake t*tties smothering the groom's face just to spite the emasculators. It's great to be a man! for one last day, at least! who's with me?
i didnt read your post, but i'll be attending a wedding on 7/7/07 in vegas myself.... it will be a monumentally awesome time.
Have the guys only go out after the first party. My bachelor party was after the rehearsal dinner, and you know any joint with boobs is gonna be open all damn night...
you mean get the guys all drunk and drive them to a tittie bar? oh, that will be dangerous with this crowd. I mean, seriously. I'd probably be down 5K and without my house keys after that. lol, anyhoot, imo Bachelor Parties are best done on Thursdays. If gives the guys from out of town something to do on that day, plus it gives everyone a day to sober up. All in all, makes for a more relaxed, free-for-all party. of course, i'm stilling trying to figure out how to prevent misplacing the groom that night.
good question. seems messy already, from the onset You definitely must do this, whatever day its on. The spiteful part of course is to go to the Friday thing pre-liquored and hungover I really don't know anything about wedding setups. They consider the rehearsal dinner setup a "Bachelor Party", and they slapped the bachelor party label on it? Still, it doesnt mean you all have to acknowledge it the same way they view it. And if no one's parents are going to be attending, who's really gonna get offended if there's a real bachelor party anyways? I'm willing to bet the women arent getting supervised in anything they're doing now. The men can at least have A night of doing it the same. That is, if the groom will be a good sport and participate.
