The daycare at which my wife works recently fired their cook, so they've been getting food from a local elementary school. She gave me a couple of cheeseburgers for lunch today that were left over Oh...my...god... It tasted like horse diarrhea laced with carpet shampoo. It tasted like a hooker's vaginal juices that had been sitting in a hot car for three hours. You make up an over the top analogy, and that is what this cheeseburger tasted like. I always thought that school food was pretty good. The hamburgers were the best item. The hamburger line was ALWAYS the longest linePerhaps it's because I hadn't eaten it in 12 years. I honestly do not remember a school hamburger tasting this bad. I knew it wouldn't be Fuddrucker's, but I expected it to be edible, in the very least...
I'm not going to even ask how you came up with those analogies, but school food is not what it used to be.
my old highschool food was like...$3.75 for a single ripoff chick-filet sandwhich. I usually went to subway after school and had a 5.00 footlong sub
I just finished off a double meat bacon cheeseburger with onion rings from the cafeteria. Mmmmm.... (Different cafeteria)
Yes the food those suck! Ever since Aramark took over HISD food service has gone down, if you can believe that.
Do you think it tasted like **** cause it wasn't "fresh"? Buy a McDonalds cheeseburger. Let it get cold. Microwave it up. Try it.
I remember when I was in 5th grade the school made meatloaf but it was in the shape of balls, about the size of tennis balls. Every eater got 2 balls, no kidding. All of us kids made jokes that these were really buffalo balls that they were serving us. Anyway, at the same time they served this, a bad stomach bug was going around too. After lunch about 30 kids in the school began to vomit and were promptly sent home. The day after and everyday after that kids paid very close attention to the lunch schedule and anytime meatloaf was listed over half the school would bring their own lunch. We all assumed the sickness was from the meatloaf of course but looking back on the situation now we know it was the stomach bug.....or was it.
Bingo....even though school food was crap when I was a kid, it's even worse now. Remember sloppy joe day at your old elementary school? Do you really want to know what was in that sloppy joe???
Didn't they also explore school lunch's in that Morgan Spurlock film? I remember it was minor but they did discuss them.
I'm the odd kid who loved cafeteria food. Being poor with no food at home didn't leave me with much choice. I used to walk to school (an hour +) every morning just to get there early for the breakfast. hehe.
