    2006 - Jordan Farmar
    2005 - Jason Maxiell
    2004 - Kevin Martin
    2003 - Ndudi Ebi
    2002 - John Salmons
    2001 - Samuel Dalembert
    2000 - Mamadou N'diaye
    1999 - Vontego Cummings
    1998 - Sam Jacobson
    1997 - Charles Smith

Lets hope the pick turns out to be more of a Kevin Martin (A++) than a Charles Smith (???)

Past 3 years are really good.

Too bad Ebi turned out to be a bust.

If we can get a Dalembert type player in this draft (especially one who could play the 4), I would be a happy man.

Sup Wes, its Frosty! yeah, I'm leaning on Glen Davis. I think him and Yao could set some nasty picks next year!

I think Charles Smith was a decent player too. I believe he was the starting power forward for the Knicks back in the mid 90's when they made it to the finals and lost to the Rockets.

The Charles Smith that he is talking about is a shooting guard selected at 26 by the Heat in 97.

Charles "Spider" Smith played college at New Mexico. A classmate of mine played on that same team. Kenny Thomas was also on that team

Even more significant are all the quality talented that has been selected after 26th (Josh Howard, Manu, parker, leandro, arenas, michael redd, etc. etc.). Hopefully the rockets have done some quality scouting and are committed to developing some young talent instead of over relying on free agency and trades.

It would be nice to get a PG like Jordan Farmer.

the charles smith in the original post was drafted in 1997.
the charles smith that played the rockets in the finals was in 93-94.

Come on! I don't think he'd be a rotation player in Houston next season.

charles "spider" smith was actually a decent player, too. during his spurs' days, he was a serviceable shooter and a good defender...a bruce bowen with a lot more athleticism. i forget why he is out of the league, because the spurs were quite happy with him.

Ok what doesn't make sense here. Knicks/Rockets in finals 1993-1994, Smith drafting in 1997. How could you think its same charles smith?
