But, if you run someone over, the cops will arrest you and possibly charge you. If you hit a car, the insurance companies will care about who ran the non-TxDoT stop sign.
that parking lot on west rd and 45 is just awesome. the worst thing about lots are the people who drive through spaces to cut through, but are going full speed like it's their right. that's one of my driving pet peeves because these f@#kers are always almost hitting me. i have no problem with people going through empty spaces if no one is around but when you get to actual lanes you need to look out for people.
That really gets to me too. Has someone ever hit you while speeding diagonally through the parking lot? I always wondered how you'd handle it if that happened.
You know you'd be back to Rookie status by now if you weren't a contributor? (I still like the joke, though.)
i've never been hit in the parking lot but i'm guessing, provided they stop and you exchange insurance, that it'd work the same as getting in an accident on the street. i think the police just can't issue a ticket to the offender.
Total freaking ghetto. Anywhere South of Rayford/Sawdust is the hood. I live in Spring near FM1960 which has quickly become "Sprung" and gotten chromed out and candy painted. Thank you govt subsidized homes/apts. When I go to that Frys there I have to drive my bulletproof Hummer.
Which begs the question...are handicapped parking spaces at private locations enforceable? What about strip centers (Wesleyan and 59 Double Daves...ARGHHH!) are the little signs that say 'The UPS Store parking only' enforceable? I think the answer is no it is just a courtesy. I would never park in a handicapped spot (I have a quad buddy that refuses them too but that's another thread) and I respect that little mom and pop stores want people to be able to park to get in but those signs tick me off.
maybe if the hispanics would stop with their ching, chang, chong talk we wouldn't have to be so subtle.

I'm pretty sure there is some law about the handicap spots, but I'm not sure what it is. As far as spots being reserved for certain stores, they can tow your car from the spot. You may not be breaking any law but it is private property, so if they tell you not to park somewhere and you do they can just tow your car.
i was at Front Porch last week and there's a place called Soul Food next door. they've got signs on the lot that clearly state, "No parking between 4 - 8 pm" or something like that. everyone seems smart enough to stay clear of the lot except this one fellow who decides he's gonna take the risk with his bmw. well, about an hour and half passes by and a car alarm goes off. sure enough, it's a tow truck hauling off the car. apparently, the guy must have been inside instead of the patio and didn't hear it since i didn't see anyone go after the tow truck. pwnd. btw, when you're hitting the late night clubs and you see those same signs that say no parking, heed those words. they WILL tow your car.
