Strange ponderings... I'm a regular guy, martial arts, sports, etc... sure there are incidents that have a higher chance of busting a ball - sparring, full contact football, skateboarding, other extreme sports etc...(without a nut guard of course) but even in a daily context, plopping down on a chair wrong, my gal pouncing me, hopping a fence... ever wonder how in all your activities, one of those seemingly fragile nuts hasn't just gone squish? Discuss.
My nuts are made of steel. Chuck Norris kicked me in the nuts once. He broke his leg and went home crying like the little girly man he is.
I knew someone who twisted a testicle playing sport. He required immediate surgery. Apparently after a few of hours after injury if surgery hasn't happened they would need to amputate.
I think about that sometimes. I think to myself "Damn I'm not gonna make it to 50 years old without chopping off a finger on a saw or something."
not my nuts, but a couple of times it was Dick himself slipping out and i could almost feel it fold in half.
about the fingers/toes thing: toes and fingers aren't as near squishable and aren't connected to appendages that have mobility and control? I mean, your nuts can rescind a bit, but it's not like you have the control to pull em in right before landing on them.
The closest I came to thinking I'd lose one was trying to ride a mechanical bull. All that damn machine does is constantly rack yourself against a metal rod. Suffice it to say, never again.
I wonder what hurts worse...kicked in the balls or delivering a baby. At least with a baby you're prepared with pain medicine.
Seriously, I should have only 7 fingers right now. I was in Cancun with my family when I was about 7. My mother accidentally slammed a van door on my hand. Luckily, I was wearing a ring we had just bought the day before and for some reason, at that moment it was between my 1st and 2nd knuckle. Not where a ring should normally be. I literally had a dent in my finger that went halfway down. I should have lost 2 more fingers when I had a manhole cover dropped on them. They should have been severed but luckily, they only got trapped between the cover and the hole for a split second. The fingernails on both of my middle fingers fell off because of that, but I still have my fingers.
All I can say, is that getting racked is a strange type of pain, capable of incapacitating a man for a while. It must be a designed weak point...
I don't know about you, but I have perfect control over my balls. I can make them levitate and do little dances. It's pretty awesome. It took intense training: 6-8 hours a day. But it was worth it.
nah, i think i just underestimated my strength and "threw her out of me." i knew someone would say that.
When I was in high school, we used to try to "rack" each other while playing basketball. One guy would get racked, immediately fall to the ground writhing in pain for about 10 minutes while the rest of us stood over him and laughed, then the game would continue. I don't know how we survived.
Mrs. rimrocker and I were talking about this the other day. She was wondering what is the evolutionary advantage to having a sack. I replied that by hanging out, it keeps all the good stuff at a cooler temperature, but beyond that I couldn't offer much except that many other mammals have similar issues... I don't see how some dogs I know are able to sit. She then wondered how come we haven't developed something like a hard pouch made of the stuff from turtle shells or antlers to protect our little bag of treats. I kind of tuned her out after that, even though it is an interesting question: Why is it designed this way? Crossover: Ha! Wait until you have kids. I swear from their 1-6 birthdays you get racked more often and more intensely than at any other time in your life. I was similarly active in my 20's and nothing has come close to the rackitude that kids supply.
There is a very narrow range where they work effectively. When you get too cold, they contract to preserve heat, and vise versa to radiate heat when too warm. A hard protective covering would make this expansion and contraction impossible. Therefore your nuts wouldn't work effectively with a hard outer covering or shell. With a permanent rigid shell you'd probably be shooting blanks most of the time.
